Brother update: His hand is fractured from punching the wall. It’s in a cast, mom took him to a doctor. We told him no tolerance for domestic violence in mom’s house. We told him to tell his wife never hit him again or we’d call cops and lock her up. He thinks he deserves his fracture.

Family drama: brother’s wife beat him while he was grieving over dad. At first I was upset for him. Now I hear he beat her back. Stepmom (mom’s gf) took his wife to wife’s mom’s to separate them. Wife’s mom brings her back, and brother yelled at mom “She’s MY wife and she’s NOT leaving!”

Brother’s kicking himself hard about not going to see dad. He’s been free every single day since we heard about dad’s cancer. He’s had every chance to get out there and see him. Sure the hospital and hospice place were about an hour drive from home, but that’s nothing.

Dad’s gone. I visited him after work today, he was still here. Doctor popped in, said he didn’t expect dad to make it to the weekend. I told dad I’d bring my brother if he stuck around. His wife, my other stepmom, messaged a couple hours later that dad had passed.

Sitting in hospice with dad for a little bit after work 🫠 They moved him here today, I guess his fate’s sealed. Fought back tears the last hour at work. My nose is a SNOT factory 🤣 He’s knocked out on pain medicine, his breathing sounds all kinds of gravel-y. Talked into the void for a minute.

My brother and his wife are now at FIVE weeks with no jobs. I get that the job hunt can be… unsuccessful, but still, he lays around doing nothing most of the day, he could be applying at LOTS more places, he absolutely could have had a job by now. Nobody in this house can afford the two of them!

Doctors think dad may have a tumor in his gut that caused some bacteria that spiked his white blood cells, got him on antibiotics and are doing a gut scan~ They got him breathing better, and he’s sleeping good, so things are looking up so far :3

I hate having to make phone calls so much, and I had to do lots of them today because credit applications, and I have to contact their references to see how they stand, and some of the references don’t have emails or don’t respond to emails 😭 So I wrote a script to use each time I call a reference 🤣
