Haribo V60, an edible gummy pourover cone

NiGHTS, the official game of ME/CFS

I’ve been playing Granblue Fantasy (the gacha JRPG) for months as my chill “lie in bed and don’t think” game, and it’s hilarious to me how GBF Versus (the fighting game) has an RPG mode that’s basically “a fighting game with all of the gacha’s metastructure”, as if designed specifically for me

I keep trying to connect with online chronic illness communities (I’m looking for more social contact with folks like me, and 1:1 interactions sadly often tire me out), but I keep getting disappointed how full these spaces are of bitter and petty jerks. I empathize. Being this sick sucks. But sigh.

I'm still in awe (complimentary) that the title "Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii" made it to store shelves.

all disability advice is like •become a detective, your disease is a puzzle •every doctor lies. multiclass Cleric 3 for Zone of Truth. they still lie but now you know •blackmail your insurance •systematically destabilize every part of your life for at least a year •with luck you can now digest food

I have complex feelings about how my relationship with food has changed since getting Big Sick, but I’m perhaps most amazed that I’ve gone from being completely repulsed by coconut to having my evening coconut milk turmeric latte unironically be be my favorite little treat

Hey, if you have a Kindle device, you may have read about Amazon locking down access to purchased books starting on Feb 26. I just used this tool, if you're technical enough to comfortably clone a git repo and install npm/bun dependencies it's quick and easy to use. github.com/treetrum/ama...

I have never wanted a custom peripheral more, and that’s saying something.

I think of this meme almost every day

At least for the stable SteamOS update track, Steam on a Steam Deck can combine two joycons into a single controller in desktop mode but not game mode. So that’s fun.

Heard from someone saying they get foreign language writing practice via solo journaling RPGs, and dang what a good idea.

Doctor Goku I understand you wanted to ‘fight it at full strength’ but before you injected it with a Senzu bean my wife’s cancer was in remission

Random helpful American trans hellhole bureaucracy tip that may help someone: CBP is still happily processing name and gender marker changes for TSA Pre/Global Entry/NEXUS, including issuing new physical cards. Not a particularly useful ID card, but it’s good to know that CBP hasn’t changed policy.

If you are a cis person *please* take 2 minutes to do this. Trans people with non-updated gender markers, historical gender marker changes, and X markers are terrified to travel right now; rolling back this policy would mean a lot.

I'm extremely grateful for my newest doctor, and also in continual disbelief at how much money it's costing me to finally have a doctor I feel like knows more than me about my specific illness.

*joining a group chat* Them: We're talking about DSM Me: The mental disorder manual or the Synology NAS operating system? Them: The autism one Me: ...yeah that could be either

I don’t think I have ever felt more tonal whiplash in a narrative game, in terms of “this is probably the most nuanced and effective metaphorical depiction of PTSD I’ve encountered in a game, indie or AAA” vs “oh my god I’m going to ragequit if you make me do another bullshit stealth mission”

A long thread, but tl;dr if you currently have paying subscribers on Substack, it’s possible to migrate to another provider who uses Stripe (such as Buttondown, who rock) without losing your current subscribers’ payment info! One less reason to keep supporting a transphobic fascist platform.

Game designers, writers, and publishers: Polygon Treehouse made a sleek and convenient "No GenAI" seal PNG for those of us who still refrain from using Midjourney, ChatGPT, DallE, and all the rest of that sludge at any stage of our process! Link is here www.polygon-treehouse.com/no-gen-ai-seal

Marvel Rivals has 200k concurrents on Steam right now, during weekday work hours in the US, and that doesn’t include consoles or Epic (or probably Steam China? I’m not sure how “official” Chinese Steam works) Wild that’s not successful enough to justify continued development.

Okay, watching the Warframe team get better and better at storytelling over a decade of content releases continues to be delightful. I’m up to The New War (2021), where they’re like “cool, let’s do a full-on Halo/Destiny-style cinematic campaign this time” and it slaps.

The Republicans were willing to work weekends. Dems keep coming back from long weekends and finding entire departments gone. We are in week 3.
