If they make changes, check if it's for the longevity of the tattoo (see, small details that would bleed out over time etc) Not entirely a giveaway, but having a huge array of styles on their personal (not shop) page is something I'd find fishy.

I don't think they do have papers for it specifically. Your best option is research the artist thoroughly. Personally all the artist I have gone to are oldschool so I don't have experience in more modern working ones. Look for WIP works, ask for sketches of (your) design ++
