I’ve reached a fork in the road. On one path I go to the gym, pop by the sauna and do grocery shopping. On the other path I eat biscuits in bed until it’s time to start work. I’ve got about 10 minutes to decide how I want my future to look.

Corporations are not our friends. They never have been, never will be. If they’re holding you close it’s because they’ve got their hand in your pocket. To avoid great disappointment I’d recommend not thinking of any corporation as “good” and shedding any misplaced personal feelings of fondness.

So, uh, just to be clear- the NSA is using DS interns to run a study to understand positive class bias for a classifier to detect / delete all publications about bias. Presumably they’ll publish these results to have then immediately deleted.
