Response from @cardsphere.com to an email supporting their partnership with @edhijinks.bsky.social, @goberthicks.bsky.social, and @aliasv.bsky.social. Please speak up to let folks know you stand by their choices. It will only strengthen their resolve. Let the hateful know you choose love.

I’m at a game store that’s wheelchair accessible, has a shelf full of books on Palestine prominently on display, and gender neutral bathrooms with changing tables. Paper Tiger in Richmond kinda rules.

I'm normally cynical about politicians but this is statesmanship. It is affirming republican civic virtue. Not irony-poisoned snark, not focus-grouped talking points. The oath to the Constitution matters, and it's time to speak plainly and earnestly about how our fundamental principles are at stake.

Forever and ever.

This couldn’t be more wrong-minded. You fight them on the “small fights” so that they know you’re going to be there to fight them on the bigger ones; so that you have the muscle memory for how to fight them on the bigger ones; so that you don’t cede a single stupid inch like “Gulf of America”.

For those of you who don't know the reference, Hitler spent a huge amount of time and resources purging what he considered "degenerate art"

Some of the best writing last year came from games that embraced a bit of ambiguity and left some room for interpretation. 1000xResist, Mouthwashing, Sorry We're Closed... but by and large, I feel like games are still so deathly afraid that players could miss something, and the writing suffers.

This article lays it out plainly. There's nothing to repeal. Costco doesn't have a DEI program. It doesn't have a diversity policy. It simply doesn't use discriminatory hiring practices. These AGs are in hysterics bcuz Costco refuses to segregate its business.

YA HABIBI

this is the "merit" two-step. first, you strongly imply or state outright that the presence of anyone who isn't a straight, able-bodied white man is unfair "DEI," then you argue that just because an institution is all-male and lily-white doesn't mean there is discrimination. that's just merit!

My latest. As journalists and writers, we have a duty to use language that is accurate and describes our current reality. I’m no longer going to talk about DEI/Anti-DEI. Let’s be clear. We are facing racial purges and re-segregation. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

I'm sorry, but "they took over the whole federal payments system, fired the career staff, and won't let anybody see what they're doing" is not a situation in which you wait for more information. It's a situation in which you assume the worst. There's no explanation for it other than rampant crimes.

good piece www.teenvogue.com/story/sara-j...

I wrote about Musk and this bureaucratic coup as plainly as I could. There's reporting in here & the particulars are overwhelming but what's happening is so clear: He's not trying to run the federal govt like a software company He's trying to turn it into a political weapon. (gift link)

TOMORROW: We’re rallying at the Treasury building with @moveon.org to stop Elon Musk’s hostile takeover and tell this unelected billionaire to get his hands off our money. We hope you can join us if you’re in the D.C. area.

Speaking of hype, my friends made a game that is absolutely lovely and chill and the kind of queer, colored joy that we so desperately need right now, and I cannot speak highly enough about it. Toss them your coin, and find some peace in our times.

I think I was happier before I knew Tim Walz existed. I just don't think I can handle the psychic damage of knowing there is a Democrat out there like him telling other Democrats exactly what they should be doing and getting ignored every time. I was happier thinking the entire party was clueless.

Yet again, everyone, it is time to go speak at your school board meetings to present mass vocal opposition. Loud, plentiful, and frequent - voices need to point out repeatedly that these steps are illegal and harmful, and that we are behind *every teacher* who continues to support their students.

this is gonna be the way things work over the next few years- the admin getting like 1% of what it wants and losing almost every negotiation while the lapdog press spins every loss as a huge historic win, it's literally the modi model

Neoliberalism is designed so that individuals become so atomised that the only question in response to rising fascism is "what can I do?" & the subsequent answer is "nothing". But the moment you reach out to an org asking & answering "what can *we* do?" the impossibility of action is proven false.

We will need this reminder again in four years when Zuckerberg gets on a stage promising more of the same in a shinier pair of shoes.
