On an opening page of this project I talk about its experimental spirit! There were so many tools I learned. Such as the way the colors subtly shift while reading through it or how the handwritten text can be overlapped like the #AugustAndEverythingAfter album cover! learningtowalkagain.life/August/

This video has a good explanation of why we give up on our dreams gradually over time. Those lofty goals are really difficult to do. #ChildhoodDreams #GrowingUp #DiogoGonçalves thepresentcanbe2020.life/blog/?id=why...

Last year I started writing #NewYearsCheckpoints for my #webdesign. This was a great way to track what I did in the last year and what I had planned to do in the year ahead. I thought about making one for 2025 but I now have so much other work to do! thepresentcanbe2020.life/blog/?id=col...

This was a fun game I attended yesterday where they hit a three pointer at the last second to end up tying it! #EcksteinBasketball

I wish I knew more about the #philosophy of #absurdism at 14 like this new YouTuber. Had I started my view of life to see just about everything around me as absurd then I could better understand by own #worldview. I wouldn't have expected life to make sense and could build up my own #purpose.

I wrote a story about how one of my school's teams won a game with one second left. I've been sponsoring a few of these players over the last year. In 2024 I chose the shortest player and this year I went with the kid who assisted with the one second shot! #RooseveltRoughRiders #EcksteinMiddleSchool

A good reminder to enjoy the hard process of being a long form writer. @carlduncan.bsky.social

This is an article on differentiation of what professions make. It doesn't line up with the childlike feel of the biggest portion of this work though but maybe is related by being about teaching math? It includes the stat that it would take Seahawks Stadium of doctors to equal what #JeffBezos makes.

I enjoy looking at my blog posts from a year ago. They include experiments like this dripping ink concept on the letter "y." At first the descender was dripping around a stanza. It was hard to pull off because it didn't work across all screen sizes. Maybe I'll try it again if it comes out in print?

It is amazing the skills students can learn before leaving high school. What a great video edit! He runs a channel called the story seeker podcast where he muses about his career choices. Seems that someone like this would have a lot of opinions open for him. www.youtube.com/@StorySeeker...

I wrote a poem about teachers and principals who take the time to get to know their students at lunch. Reading articles like this it is good to hear that this is still being made such a high priority today.

This is what I dedicated my 2024 to (for the most part.) A collection of memories from the schools I attended growing up and the relationships built there. Out of all my sites I believe this one will be my favorite. Check it out! learningtowalkagain.life #WebDesign #InteractiveBook #MiddleSchool

My website was featured on Roughest Drafts VOD this week! It is an interesting channel that reviews submissions from writers at the beginning stages of their work. I am really looking forward to reworking some of these pieces and adding in some more writing. Especially as we head in to poetry month!

An article I wrote a year ago about why poetry plays such a big role in my latest website. A lot of topics couldn't be written in any other context. #Poetry #Poems #BookSky #Design #Illustration #PoetryCommunity #WritingCommunity

A great movie about trying to find your purpose in school. I wrote a series on meaning of life films and Vision Quest sets out on this quest a little earlier than these other tales. Taking place in high school it looks at going after goals that are outside of what is the easiest to come by.

Some more thoughts on the five #AlbumSeries that got me to do this project. I've loved #LongConceptAlbums growing up The Wall, Tommy, Melon Collie, Sandinista! This unrolling five LP set changed how I've come to think about short term jobs in to works that can be really fleshed out in the long haul.

This video got me to think how we value #education. A professor is looking at getting a surgery that would impair the part of his brain he uses to teach classes and write books. Yet most people are not faced with this dilemma and make the conscious choice as to not put #learning at the forefront.

I am so glad this series of albums has come out by Pedro the Lion (@pedrothelion.bsky.social.) I needed a way to think about my early origins through long form story telling! I'm also looking forward to new music from Dave Bazan's Headphones project. (@headphonesmusic.bsky.social)

Lately I've really felt the importance of having an educational system in place which is always ongoing. No matter how busy I become I almost always look for some time where I can improve myself over yesterday. It is vital to my work and life. #ContinuingEducation #Learning #LifeBalance

Start of middle school was also the start of the election. “Who would you vote for president this year?” Myself I was clueless having done no dissection How were my classmates so articulately clear? #Poem #Inauguration

Postcard art, riffing on one of Matisse's cut-outs. This one went to my mom.

🏀 Game begins I find a spot on the wall. The tip-off now starts the players off quick. ⛹🏻‍♂️ A few so little others growth-spurted tall. Occasionally a shot is an out of bounds brick. #B-ball reflects over to me whistle signals the call. Feels I’m not audience. I return with a flick. #MiddleSchoolPoetry

When I log into #Bluesky I keep thinking of this song. I went back to listen to it and it seems a little different then I remember it. Almost like if Tori Amos was fronting #TheCure with a touch of #Republica's Ready to Go. I like the kids floating around singing Tori's parts too! #Electronica

I don't tend to use my accounts to talk about politics all that much but I did an interview right after the #election that I enjoyed. When I asked Jane if we would be better with a 10 party system like other countries have she thought everything would just merge back to 2 parties again. IDK? Agree?

I miss the days of not having to think about politics. 🫤 Start of middle school was also the start of the #election. “Who would you vote for #president this year?” Myself I was clueless having done no dissection How were my classmates so articulately clear?

I really like this video from my school where the teacher tells students to silence their inner critic and then burns the negative thoughts they have about themselves. I sometimes forget the crippling level of doubt a young person can have while still they are still discovering fully who they are.

My previous collection of writings (@thepresentcanbe2020.life) was chapter book organized in a straightforward fashion. When I came up with this series of writings there was no clear way to begin and end different parts. So I decided to write two paragraphs explaining it with the links mixed in.

One doesn't often see a poem in praise of school caretakers, so I wrote one. Free on my website - 'THE CARETAKER': www.joshuaseigal.co.uk/the-caretaker #EduSky #BookSky #Kidlit

This is awesome! Probably one of my most wanted features to come over to #Bluesky! Needing to go into settings every time I switch is not only a hassle but counterintuitive.

A page on what to be #thankful for. I also continue #learning myself with new layout and #animation techniques. Growing up this I remember being told - Be grateful in all this which you have bathed, #Devastation overflow in that other abode. and yes I was thankful to be so unscathed. #Poetry

My project, Learning to Walk Again, was largely inspired by a band's five part record series about moving to different towns growing up. I didn't move at all in my early years but I found that the spirit of these songs subconsciously effected my output. Now this mindset largely guides my career.
