If you're in London and looking for something fun to do on Saturday, come along to the Royal Oak in Northumberland Heath. Hazel is getting shit after barring someone for being homophobic. It's a superb spot, show them some love! Even if you're not free, pls share in case others fancy coming!

Seconded

Posting this again because I’d like to encourage creators to please, PLEASE take control of your own destinies. karlkerschl.com/how-i-built-...

I get it: most artists don't want to be business people or IT people or customer service people. So platforms like Patreon are a good trade-off. But they will (slowly, inevitably) tip the scales in their own favor. BUT! if you're tech-inclined, @karlkerschl.bsky.social shows us there IS another way…

THEATRE OF BLOOD! (one of my own childhood scars)

NEW EPISODE! Dave and Andy chat with Milo McCabe (aka the terribly polite Troy Hawke) and discover the three things that scarred him for life as a youngster (still looking dapper, presumably) Listen to this and all previous episodes here: pod.link/1706291698

Any number of war movies, tbh, take your pick. KELLY'S HEROES most notably, probably. He took me to see STAR WARS, that was big. Introduced me to PLANET OF THE APES (memorably spoiling the ending about 5 minutes in 😂) Books, no, none. But he did teach me you're never too old to enjoy LOONY TUNES...

Five days to go till our Folk Horror show at Midlands Arts Centre, Birmingham! Tickets still available!

Have reached that point in my "Fitness Journey" where I can *feel* improvements in my physique yet they're completely invisible in the mirror. Kinda dispiriting.... On top of that I've also evidently lost *some* weight so my clothes all look baggy and shit so I'm going to have to buy new clothes

Yesterday a couple of microlights flew over so low I could see the support struts in the wings against the sun, so I quickly whipped up my phone and took this amazing photo... ...of a couple of specks.

Tonight's movie - FREEBIE AND THE BEAN (1974)

Wondering to myself "what could've prompted a TV producer to come up with such a bizarre idea?" - and then I realised that Back To The Future, Silverado and Pale Rider came out the previous year...

Did Matt Wagner ever continue/complete THE AERIALIST? As far as I can recall only three episodes were ever published...

This is exactly the kind of thing ITV would tuck away at stupid-o'clock in the morning - never seen it though.

Happy Father's Day, dads. I hope you have cake 🎂

Oh this is a good one if you've never seen it

Blimey! 😳

Next read off the pile - for "Heroine Addiction" month, and in tribute to the late Peter David

Completely missed Yello Day this year.... youtu.be/2CDKmlP4zEo?...

Finished this tonight. A good solid straight crime story - so supernatural elements. Not quite as compulsive a read as HOLLY or THE OUTSIDER but good. And always nice to catch up with Holly Gibney, Jerome, and co.

I wrote a joke once: Vincent Van Gough goes into a newsagent. He buys a newspaper, a magazine, a puzzle book, and a Mars bar. The newsagent tills him up and asks "Do you need a bag?" And Vincent says, "No thanks, I've got one 'ere."

This month completes Year Three of @neverseenpod.bsky.social Here are all the movies we've covered so far... neverseenpod.podbean.com
