I just finished reading a paper from 1975 about test data & it 🀯 The reason? It was co-written by one of my CS professors! I was in school 20 years ago & testing was never mentioned! You'd think that someone proposing a theory on test data would have mentioned it, taught it!

I've been reading old articles about software testing from like the 1970s. It's very interesting!

What are the hardest topics in computer science? To me, software testing is one of the more difficult topics, along with cache invalidation, naming things, and off-by-1 errors πŸ˜† What makes it hard? Here are 11 reasons... 1. Being misunderstood 2. It's endless 3. It's infinite 4. No guarantees

Removing humans in favor of machines backfired? Who could've seen that coming? People don't want to be replaced. In fact, people want more human connection! Can companies learn from this during the AI race? It's OK to augment humans with tech, not replace! www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Do you find testing software a chore? Do you find it boring? qacaptain.com/10-reasons-w...

What's the best social strategy? Post a link to a blog? Or, write a multi-part thread?

I can't not like this enough! Hee hee 🀭

I ran a test. I asked AI a question about symbolism of a logo. Gemini: That's a terrible symbol for branding. No one uses it. Copilot: Hey, that's an awesome idea! Here's why and what it means! Copilot also gives a warning that it may make mistakes. Gemini thinks it's right about everything!

Courage is contagious! If we all have a little bit of Courage, we can make a difference! Courage > corruption, complicity, cynicism!

I'm not usually one for self-promotion. It generally gives me the ick factor, but times are changing, & I need to start advocating! I have so much knowledge & experience to get out there! So, in the coming future, you can read more of my thoughts on QA, QE, & software testing at qacaptain.com/blog/

Ok, so with some encouragement from @lisacrispin.bsky.social, I finally got around to writing my own post about my viewpoints on "manual testing." I prefer the term...Experiential Testing, which I define and go into more details. qacaptain.com/words-matter...

I'm hoping the Kennedy curse understands the assignment!

Autism is NOT a tragedy. Not diagnosing is a tragedy. Improperly diagnosing is a tragedy. Not supporting those with a diagnosis is a tragedy. Not believing those with a diagnosis is a tragedy. Ableism is a tragedy.

New reasons why AI is not good: slobsquatting! AI is hallucinating package names! Just flat out making up non-existent packages! This creates a supply chain vulnerability & spreads malware! Don't just implicitly trust AI! Everything needs to be validated! www.theregister.com/2025/04/12/a...

I want to work. I need to work. Right now, I'm stuck and now sure how to proceed with the next steps. Do I move forward anyway & backtrack when needed? Do I give up? Ugh!

FOTUS: "Our country is going to boom! Stock market will boom! Jobs will boom! Everyone loves it!" Everyone: Do you mean like going "boom-boom" πŸ’© in the big boy 🚽? /sarcasm

You think Heard Island and McDonald Islands would be safe because of ego. πŸ€” McDonald has his name in it. And it's the name of his favorite restaurant!

Since today is apparently "Liberation Day..." here's some quotes on Liberty! Liberty may be endangered by the abuse of Liberty, but also by the abuse of power - James Madison

Can we cancel the April 1st jokes/pranks from businesses? It was fun & novel in the earlier internet days, but it's worn out & tired. Plus, people are trying too hard & they usually miss!

We wanted our version of the Roaring 20s. We got a version of the Souring 20s. πŸ˜”πŸ˜₯

After lurking on Threads, I find it weird. Bluesky is where a lot of bird site users fled to. It’s a place for community building, where all the β€œadults” in the room have discussions.
