Well, fuck

At the vet’s office yet again. I know this isn’t really news, but having two senior cats with opposing health issues is exhausting AF, and that’s even before we get to the dog.

This is so very sad

I have to fly to Tucson on Saturday, and I already didn't want to take the trip for personal reasons, and now I have to br afraid of the flight too. I don't like this timeline, at all.

I know this is sarcasm, but raise your hand if you actually know the answer.

Bezos directly emailing staff gives away the whole game.

There is a fascinating correlation between billionaires and shameless stupidity. Who is going to read this when the WSJ exists?

First measles death is reported in the West Texas outbreak that's infected more than 120 people This death is on YOU, antivaxxers — especially leaders like RFK Jr. And more will be coming if he is allowed to pursue his pro-death agenda. It’s murder. apnews.com/article/meas...

This is my current book, which is genuinely a fascinating read, but I am definitely going to need the frothiest romance or the coziest of mysteries to be next up. Luckily I have a shit-ton of both on my tablet. www.simonandschuster.com/books/Sociop...

NEW - Rep. Mark Alford tells fired KC federal workers ‘God has a plan’ at hostile town hall Folks, I've been covering politics for a dozen years in Kansas and Missouri and this is probably the most intense, angry town hall I have ever seen www.kansascity.com/news/politic...

MAFSAU 12-18 I guess we know now that Adrian gets his assholeness naturally, and that production wanted to show that his sisters are assholes too. #MAFSA #MAFSAU

“Maybe if I send an occasional provaccine tweet I’ll be able to live with myself”

This is a terrible move @msnbc.com. Terrible. The @joy.msnbc.com was a critical part of the evening line-up and @joyannreid.bsky.social brings trenchant political analysis that no one else in the evening line-up has brought. I urge you to reconsider this. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/23/b...

MAFSAU 12-17 Experts & producers clearly want Eliot to stick around--wonder how they much they coached him & pressured Veronica. To me, it feels like they decided they don't need Adrian & don't want to bother with the ass anymore, but I guess they (and we) have to. #MAFSA #MAFSAU

"Immigrants didn't steal my job. The president did."

I just started watching Severance (the series, not the season). Does it get less weird? I like it well enough, and will probably keep watching, but it is weird #severance

[Redacted] tl/dr whine about why today has already been really frigging irritating, even before I figured out why the dog kept needing to go out every two hours last night. This seems like a good time to eat junk food in front of the TV for an hour or so.

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

Gov. JANET MILLS!! wish Sen. Collins had 1/10th the backbone.

Options for this weekend: 1) Do useful errands and get stuff around the house done or 2) reading (I have several library books checked out right now I need to get to) and start Severance (people tell me I should watch it) and probably an edible or 10

Also and not for nothing, vote by mail

SPLC deliberately gutted its Hatewatch imprint. They have no full time investigative reporters working in the intelligence project, which covers the radical right. They moved the editor of Hatewatch into the comms department. Spend your money elsewhere during Trump II.

This is why I really have no time for the "behind the scenes, Republicans say yadda yadda yadda." This is a public-facing business. If you tell a reporter you don't want to vote "aye" then you vote "aye," who cares?

Why is it that early morning appointments always seem like a good idea when I make them, but still mean I have to be awake early?

If you were wondering if there is a word to describe how the United States is currently being governed, why, yes, there is: kakistocracy!
