Does anyone know of good research on social withdrawal in autistic teenagers and what one can do? How can their trust in society be restored when they have been let down so many times before? #AutRes. And anyone suggesting Exposure Therapy will be blocked 😠

Finding a way out of chronic autistic burnout is like walking barefoot on a rocky, uneven path. I used to run, so I was fast enough to meet expectations , and my feet hurt less from sharp stones. The problem was I would occasionally bump into a large rock and then could not walk at all for a bit.

Het kabinet negeert de problemen van kinderen en jongeren met #autisme die langdurig niet naar school gaan. Dat stelt de NVA. Vorige week werden er extra bezuinigingen aangekondigd op de ondersteuning van deze #thuiszitters.

Wat ik me nu afvraag: bij kinderen die uitvallen bij #passendonderwijs, gaat het bij iemand wel eens goed? zijn er ouders die *geen* strijd hebben hoeven voeren om gehoord te worden? Die *wel* gelijk adequate hulp kregen? Ik vraag het me echt af.
