Back when Bagosian was in BUF, I (and others) suggested the Leafs pursue him. Leafs Twitter couldn't throw up in their mouths fast enough. The Leafs were changing the way the game is played and he was a washed up plug. You know the rest. Anyway. Seth Jones.

IMO Minten tops out as a 2C on a non playoff team. Cowan similar. Matthews has 3 years left after this. JT essentially a support player moving forward. Marner status unknown. Cap space may be abundant. Trade the prospects. Go for it then suck hard later. The window is open

It just dawned on me that Marner walking to free agency is eerily similar to the JT situation 7 years ago. Good regular season player. Poor playoff results. The difference may be the indifference in the fanbase if 16 walks. They loved JT so much, they turned on him. Can't see that here.
