Dear Republican members of Congress from NY and NJ: Do you support Trump and Musk's 20% cut to vital healthcare for 9/11 survivors, firefighters, police officers, first responders, and rescue workers? Please explain. Right now. Sincerely, We the People

Yep, sounds pretty “pro-life” to me! There aren’t enough eye rolls to make the world go round to offset all the heartbreak contained in this snippet 💔

Don’t lose hope. Remember, Watergate took over two years to fully unravel from the initial break-in to Nixon’s resignation. Just like then and now, Americans are losing faith in their government. We are documenting every illegal action and will hold this administration and Elon Musk accountable.

The Eagles will snub the White House visit. Go Birds 🦅

As a pedestrian, nothing feels as good as slow-walking in front of a dick-ish driver. Making them wait that extra half a second on their brakes…

One of our supporters shared this with us—people are getting creative tonight!

@mcuban.bsky.social What about retraining for folks who may have another career, how could you see supporting a cohort like that in a plan like this one? Seems like you and JFK are sharing the 💡 that the concept of mandatory service to one’s country being only about the military…1/

So you’re saying I SHOULD keep stuffing Goldfish into my face, then, right @thisone0verhere.bsky.social…?

it’s so sad that Kanye West passed away shortly after releasing Graduation. I bet he would have gone on to do incredible things if he hadn’t tragically died 18 years ago

Think firing the entire federal workforce will save America money? Federal civilian employees account for just 4% of the federal budget. Even if someone like Musk—or any president—fired all of us, it wouldn’t make much of a dent in government spending. Don’t fall for it.

do you have any idea just how badly you have to fuck up to get Canada mad at you

never gonna Alt+F4 never gonna Ctrl+W never gonna :q! and desert you never gonna Ctrl+X never gonna Esc never gonna Ctrl+D and hurt you

Sometimes shit just seems like too much and then you remember that study scientists did where it turned out ice cream is actually healthy and it gives you a little ray of light

“Hold on to the truth… and hope.” Hope springs eternal for a reason: we have always needed it and it’s the only way we get through the hard things others choose to turn away from. Hope gets us to better places, so thank you @jimacosta.bsky.social for this reminder ✨

Focus on 1 or 2 things. Go deep on those. Focus on "news" about those things first and foremost. Think about the concrete actions you can take to impact those ONE or TWO things.

Seriously.

The folks obsessively posting about egg prices for the past few years have gone strangely quiet just as egg prices hit an all-time high.

When we see narratives that blame the most vulnerable people for problems caused by the most powerful, I think it’s important to remember that this viral spread of misinfo is a more pervasive version of what the powerful have always done to defend themselves, with tech they steered in this direction

Seems important that in Fahrenheit 451, books were still “available” in single-paragraph summaries—“read Hamlet in five minutes!”—but the books themselves had been banned for being too difficult. Tech boosters see a warning and think it’s an instruction manual.

I get this. My addition is that I don’t trust cars if there isn’t a key to turn, fight me I don’t care 🤷‍♀️

It’s like everyone forgot about when iTunes automatically downloaded their album. But I’ll always remember and I’ll never forgive.
