There is still good in the world, if only we have eyes to see it and arms to embrace it.

"Seeing others as individuals and not as spokes branching out from the hub of our egocentric self helps us to be present, patient, and empathetic." — Joe C., 'Beyond Belief' 4/16

Starting the day with gratitude. Today, I'll strive to be a better person than I was yesterday. Keep moving forward.

As we enter Easter week, a word of caution. Please don't make fun of kids who believe in the Easter Bunny. There are people in the United States who still believe Donald Trump and Elon Musk are geniuses.

The camera didn't pan the room, but it looks like there were 10's of people in attendance (not including staff, law enforcement, & the press...)

Wow

That indescribable feeling I get seeing people post incessantly decrying Trump's regime atrocities who I know for a fact either didn't vote, or voted third party or whatever. No, I know what it is. Incandescent rage. Seriously, fuck all the way off. You're just as fucking bad as Trump voters.

I just used an Offspring lyric in a work group chat. How's your day going? :-)

Dear All Female passengers on the Blue Origin: You were not a 'crew'. You were on a (very, very) short tour during which you were sightseeing. A 'crew' presupposes that there is work involved.

I had a joke about Daedalus, but I got lost.

I was just minding my business at Starbucks this morning when out of nowhere, I got tased. No explanation. I'm… really stunned.

Musk's reign at the White House is coming to a close. He didn't save a fraction of what he claimed he would (see news this past weekend), destroyed the lives of thousands of federal workers (I wonder how many suicides, divorces, & murders will be tied to this), crippled federal responsiveness... 1/2

Finished 'The Lost Apothecary' last night. 💙📚 Next up, 'Red Rabbit' by @alexgrecian.bsky.social. Slowly but surely, I am making progress on my TBR collection this year while reading a wide variety of books (although I continue to add to it, LOL). Not gonna lie, I feel very motivated. #Booksky

According to this, Trump is 2 inches taller than me, and the same weight...😂🤣😂🤣 Bless his lying heart.

It's Saturday morning! First off, I hope y'all have a fabulous weekend! I'm starting my day donating platelets at Lifesouth. An hour or two of my time can save a life; how cool is that? After this, I'll be gassin' up for a little road trip. This world can bring us down. Do good, daily.

Limp Bizkits & Gravy

Peanut Butter & Pearl Jam

I used to think it would be cool to have a chip implanted in my brain to play music, or give me a heads up display with all the info in the world at my beck & call, monitor my vitals, whatever. Self driving cars? Sign me up! Rocket ship to Mars? Woo hoo! But now? 1/2

Comic books, Key Lime Pie, local bookstores, libraries, local festivals...

It used to be fun to scroll Bluesky, I never knew what I'd see next. Now, it's all the same. Doom 24/7, with an occasional odd or good post in between to break the horrifying monotony. I swear, there is still good in the world. We don't need to be overwhelmed by Trump 24/7.

Finished 'The Midnight Library' today. Very thought provoking novel and a meditation on life, regrets, and second chances. Next up, 'The Lost Apothecary' by Sarah Penner. 💙📚 This is a better use of my time than doomscrolling or screaming into the void. #Booksky

Apparently, when you donate blood, it has to be your blood. I know that now.

@rndllbrns.bsky.social did you see the Summer of Superman Special pages on Bleeding Cool? I think you'll be thrilled with it! It comes out next week. #LLL

I've got three words for you: Stock Market Manipulation While everyone's retirement & 401K's were decimated, the billionaires can now buy low and reap the riches. One day, they'll reap the whirlwind.

If cauliflower can become pizza, then you, my friend, can become anything.

Finished 'Bullet Train' yesterday. I would've finished sooner if I hadn't taken a few days off in the middle. What a wild ride; I'll definitely be back for more in this series! Next up, 'The Midnight Library' by Matt Haig. Everyone needs a break from the real world when possible. 📚👓 #Booksky

"Taking responsibility makes us feel better about ourselves, and increased self-worth helps us feel more connected to others. We can look the world in the eye, maybe for the first time in our lives." — Joe C., 'Beyond Belief' 4/8
