Drafting a talk for next month, but confess my brain's not in the game still after my early start. So let's throw lots of slides from previous talk into a new slide-bank and then prune away heavily another day. Surely this tried & true method will reveal a diamond eventually...

Okay @hordeofduck.bsky.social - do NOT be telling da goosey boiz about this one. They'll expect us to invest our life's savings!

Okay, who scheduled an 8am meeting? Oh right, it was me. The joy of working with an international team :) Still, better than my 5am meeting last November...that was a whole lot more challenging.

Yes, it's time for another Walking With Llama Paws, as I tackle the mud, hills, mud and also mud from Wing, Rutland up around Oakham and into the fringes of Lincolnshire in South Witham. Sun, fun, mud & huge puddles await... youtu.be/MBxunx1_Q14 #youtube #hiking #walking #rutland

Sitting in a Jisc webinar and thinking ' know a few of these names' about the speakers. While, writing a talk for next month on the other monitor...

Meanwhile in the Daily Telegraph, those mozzies are being proper gîtes again.

Sigh. My current elderly PC really isn't doing its longevity any favours the last few days. Failing USB ports, software keeps hanging. It's had a glorious decade plus of life, but it really is doing everything it can to make me replace it right now.

Went to look at carpets for the spare room/Mrs Llama's office. Spent much time stoking the obviously out of our price bracket super-comfy ones. Came away to think about it/recover from working how much it'll cost. So, generally, a productive Sunday!

'What was the creepiest thing you saw today Dr Llama?' you ask. Ah, easy I say - t'was this sign in Ashwell, which seems to feature at least one dead kid...

In one of those perfectly timed moments, OH and I were driving along discussing that we’ve not had any pheasants in our garden this winter when we usually do. Got home, looked out of the kitchen window, and there was a magnificent Mr Pheasant, strutting his stuff on the back lawn #timing #pheasants

Sometimes friends remind me of videos I made yonks ago. Long enough ago that I can't remember the gags! Chuckling on a rewatch! youtu.be/CCMmIurBWkA?...

Out and about in mud, mire and hills. At least there was some sun! #hiking

I have to say Jeffrey Donovan as Machine Head totally stole this week's Invincible. Top supervillain performance, very highly enjoyable!

Me 'Imagine, before we met you didn't know what a Green Lantern was! And now, I bet you accidentally know loads.' Mrs Llama 'He's green and wears rings' Me 'Close, but not bad. Can you name any GLs?' Mrs Llama 'Steve...Rogers?' Good to see she's been paying >very< close attention. 😂

Authorising Mrs Llama to speak to an insurer on my behalf 'Look, she's already the boss of me anyway, so why would I have any problem giving her full control over this account?'

And there we have it, comic book 4,000 in my catalogue - 52 (No. 51, Apr 2007). Confusing having a comic book with a number for a name isn't it! Great series though, really enjoyed it at the time and flicking back through it, it still stands up well. One of DC's better wheezes of the 2000s.

Loved tonight's penultimate episode of Lower Decks, featuring a multiverse story where the lead character moaned about multiverses being tired and hacky concepts. Bliss.

Amazon takes creative control of James Bond. Nothing could go wrong here can it...?! www.theguardian.com/film/2025/fe...

A survey about Leicestershire's rights of way/public pathways? Why yes, I did respond to this - although there's no option for 'walks a mad-crazy distance along these annually' www.leicestershire.gov.uk/have-your-sa...

Mrs Llama seems to dislike that I've grown my beard out from my 'Abraham Lincoln' standard this week (technically, it's an 'The Immortal') and suggested I am now my own mirror universe duplicate. Possibly the evil laugh I did at that point did little to alter her opinion!

The more I use GIMP the more I'm convinced it does everything Photoshop does, only in incredibly, frustratingly counter-intuitive ways. And yet, it's very slowly growing on me as an image manipulation tool.

Looking at website hosting for a small site and thinking...do I go with one of the big boys or the smaller players. Hmn, decisions, decisions.

Excellent news, little trip up to the 'Queen of Yorkshire' Leeds next month to talk publishing with researchers and students. After years where I was in Leeds every five minutes for a professional thing, now can't honestly remember the last time I was up there. Surely it's not over a decade...?!

While it's good of my dentist to text me that my routine checkup today has been postponed due to the dentist being off sick...6.50am for a text ping feels about ten minutes too early. Just as well I was already awake!

Realised Mrs Llama and I are celebrating four years at Dunhonking Towers today. While it's not flown by, it's still a shock to realise quite how long we've been living here. Only one room left to decorate now...

Today's hike, Fet the signs of spring.

Comic book 3,871: Cosmic Odyssey Book 2 (Jan, 1989). Loved this series at the time, and even more so this classic splash page as Jon Stewart finds out sometimes Green Lantern power rings aren't all that and a bag of chips!* *it was the 80s, so I'm allowed to use this phrase!

Back watching Evil of the Daleks, and every time Roy Skelton speaks I'm just hearing Zippy. Wish he'd get on and call the Dalek Emperor 'Bungle Bonce' though - that'd make my episode!

Plotting a few future hikes further east, since I'm not out pounding the roads/fields today for one. (Did a 3 miler with Mrs Llama earlier, just to blow away the cobwebs). Something with a few more chest-hairs on it planned for tomorrow though.

Nothing like an impromptu goose-falsetto performance of Carmina Burana over breakfast to kick the day off the right way. Thing was...this time t'was Mrs Llama who started us off!

Mud, mud, glorious mud. Also wind. My video of last Sunday's cross-country outing. Got a little messy! youtu.be/M4-xtRgQLic #hiking #marketharborough #winter #leicestershire #videos #youtube

Everyone keeping nice and regular today? Another find from the in law estate clearance.

It’s Bishop Brennan!!
