One more time. Starting a new dish towel. This time doing one at a time so as not to waste yarn. The next dish towel will not be so red heavy. #weaving

As usual, I’m waiting for yarn to arrive so I can start on a new project. I’m jazzed about #weaving a new scarf, but must save all that jazz and not start a different new project lest the jazz leaks out. Weird, I know, but that’s how creativity works for me.

Finished my #crochet bag (2mm macrame cord) that I’ll use from everything from a bag to carry my purse stuff to using as a clothes carrier when I go on trips. So handy!

March is National #Crochet Month. I’ve been crocheting a bag. A little hard on arthritis hands, but will be so handy. My “Happy Hooker” book is my favorite crochet book.

Fantastic speech by Bernie in Wisconsin! youtube.com/watch?v=6zSr...

Started watching a yarn video on YT, stopped to see if Trump was through yet. Nope. I’d have left out of boredom. I don’t think holding up signs or wearing a group color is going to cut it. Back to yarn!

It would have been great if all the Dems followed Al.

Go Al!

Now he’s just whining.

Like how some of the Dems hold up “False” signs when Trump lies.

Chris Murphy and co. are working with MoveOn for a Trump speech alternative, www.youtube.com/@MOVEONVIDEO

I’m disappointed that the Dems are not doing enough to check the Republicans. I know they’re in the minority. But they’re simply not doing enough. It seems they’re throwing the responsibility over on the voters. We must work in tandem.

Disgusting treatment of Zelenskyy by Trump.

After 1,000 National Park Service employees were abruptly fired on February 14, staff banded together to signal “dire distress” by draping an upside-down American flag from the 3,000-foot summit of Yosemite’s iconic El Capitan monolith.

Dang! My last #weaving project of two towels went down because of three broken threads. Another note: Happy Valentine’s Day and 37th Wedding Anniversary, Honey!

Stopped #crocheting on my Wayuu bag as the sides were all wobbly and so labor intensive. So, on to #weaving! Set up my loom for a reboot of earlier dish towels. Same pattern, different colors. Learned how to fix broken threads. Woohoo!

Great interview! How could it not be with Jon Stewart and Hakeem Jeffries. youtube.com/watch?v=MaGV...

Nervous about Elon. My SS check comes in a few days. It better be for the same amount. Damn it, I hate being jerked around like this.

Today is the 45th First Date Anniversary. Let’s do the Time Warp again.

Finished watching American Primeval. Holy cow! Riveting from start to finish. Don’t get attached to any of the characters. youtu.be/U8WMvCrywYg?...

Alrighty, on my fifth try on #crocheting the base of my Wayuu Bag. Screwed up the 4th one by getting lost in the pattern. Rectified it this time by cutting out the repeat section and using white paper to keep track of what row I’m on. Now, if I could keep these threads detangled!

Paul Krugman leaves the New York Times. Here’s his article on the Contrarian, open.substack.com/pub/contrari...

Four hours of #crocheting my Wayuu Bag. #TapestryCrochet is slow work and my fourth time of starting over. Good news: each time it looks better. Now, if I could just learn the secret of keeping thread detangled.

One side note on reading an actual book vs. Kindle. I bought a book, The Honjin Murders. Old fingers have trouble holding a book. Kindle’s fonts and spacing are larger, backlit text is easier to read. Love the Kindle dictionary. I’ve already bought the books in Tristan’s reading challenge. Hmmm…

Re-starting a Wayuu Bag. 1st attempt I used 8/4 cotton, but too thin. Went to order Catania yarn before Christmas. Little did I know it was a yarn favored by Amigurumi crocheters. Lordy, they sucked up all the supply for Christmas gifts. Now, my Catania yarn has come in, I can re-start my bag.

Following Tristan and the Classics on Patreon…the book of the month is The Honjin Murders which I finished yesterday. My first Japanese locked room murder mystery. I read 12 pages a day (Tristan’s suggestion for getting thru a difficult book). Surprise plot twist which I love.

Just finished the #weaving portion of this scarf. Very pleased with the smoothness of the gradient transitions. Now, on to the fringes and then cleaning. WooHoo!

So sad to hear of Cecile Richards has died. Great leader of Planned Parenthood. Say hey to your mama for me.

Back in the saddle again, this time #weaving a gradient scarf. I’m using 8/4 cotton for the warp, and Hobbii’s Carnival yarn for the weft. Great tips from The Woolery on how to wind on gradient yarn, youtu.be/AYMZMseacf4?....

I was off to a good start on my towels when I had a warping disaster. All that work! Will make sure next time to have the paper separator go all the way across the weft. Dang. #weaving

Started setting up for my next #weaving project…towels. First time warping this way; first time warping back-to-back towels (100” long); first time using cone holders (they work!); first time using 8/4 cotton for towels.

Former shoe holder, now a cone holder! #weaving

Amen.

I’m waiting for some 8/4 cotton cones from hobbi.com to come in so I can weave along with Curly N Yarny on a couple of dish towels. I love her positive attitude! Again with the waiting, waiting, waiting…

I’m reading along with Tristan and the Classics literature group on Patreon. In one video, he breaks down how to read them 12 pgs at a time. I tried it out with Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein last night. Works great. Waiting for the first book,The Honjin Murders, to come in. Waiting, waiting, waiting…

Finished this portion of Honey’s guitar strap. The main thing I was trying was to keep even selvedges. Settled on tracking the width with markings on a popsicle stick. Easy to measure. #inkleloom #weaving

It’s sad to see Mike Johnson kowtowing to Trump. You think Trump’s going to not hang you out to dry, Mikie?

What Santa brought me…a cone holder! #weaving

I saw that with iOS 18.1, you can bump up your Air Pods Pro 2 to hear even better. I’ve been using hearing aids for about a decade. I tried the hearing test on my iPhone yesterday, now the sound is crisp on my AirPods Pro. I can hear spoken word better. Love it! youtu.be/stjux6VbHV8?...

So sorry that President Jimmy Carter has died at 100. Great example of a President with morals.

Started weaving a guitar strap for Honey on my #inkleloom while listening to Liane Moriarty’s “Here One Moment”. Back-to-back storms are rolling in outside as I sit all cozy.

Ho, ho,ho youtu.be/zJXf4Hh4zBQ

Warped my #inkleloom today with nice analogous colors. Will begin weaving tomorrow. WooHoo!

My #crocheting mochila bag is on hold while I study up on it more. However, to fill in time, I’m working on my #inkleloom while getting inspiration from Annie MacHale’s “In Celebration of Plain Weave”.
