'Bob’s true test of a perfectly structured presentation was that the speaker should be able to ditch the PowerPoint slides and successfully deliver the same message using only the blackboard (...) most talks would indeed be better when boiled down to the bare basics: chalk board, presenter, ideas.'

Hello Bluesky 👋 We are #hiring; Calling all aspiring #postdoc s: passionate about #spatialbiology, #proteomics, and the #TME? Join our multidisciplinary team in 🇫🇮 to make impactful discoveries in #ovariancancer 🧬 farkkilab.org/careers/job-ads Sharing appreciated🤗

This data is very revealing. I have lived in 3 countries of this list ( with widely different stats), and I can see how this simple question explains a lot of people's daily habits.

Congratulations to Meiyan Jin on her beautiful publication out today. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

I will try to take on the challenge to highlight some of the cool bioimage analysis tools we use all the time. #BioimageTooloftheDay I will start with ijp-LaRoMe, a very nifty Fiji plugin that I use all the time to convert ROI to label images and vice versa github.com/BIOP/ijp-LaR...

Can colleagues amplify this appeal to journals and journal editors to open accounts on Bluesky, please? @MicrobioSoc @TrendsMicrobiol @CellCellPress @JBacteriology @jbiolchem @Nature @ScienceMagazine @PNASNews @MolMicroEditors @NAR_Open @NatureMicrobiol @NatureComms @ASMicrobiology 🙏 🦠🧪🧫🧬

Please re-post: I have a postdoc position open! Helsinki is great and working environment is fantastic! #colours #polymorphism #behavior #experiments #lepidoptera jobs.helsinki.fi/job/Helsinki...

#ProtistsOnSky Our latest #Ichthyosporean #EvoDevo story, led by M. Olivetta, C. Bhickta, N. Chiaruttini & in co. with @burnsajohn.bsky.social is finally out @natureportfolio.bsky.social nature.com/articles/s4158 A multicellular developmental program in a close animal relative

Finally out! We identified the stem cell factors (CAILs) of the vascular cambium, and a mechanism involving a ligand sequestration to position the stem cells. This work is a result of fruitful collaboration with @peteretchells.bsky.social and Tusscher labs. 🧵 1/x www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

To kick off my migration to bsky, a bit about myself. A tale of a non-linear career: > I am a biologist from Brazil. My master's project was on plant pathogenic bacteria. > After my Master's, I worked for 3.5 years in a plant biotech company. Meanwhile, I obtained an MBA studying at night. (1/2)

(2/2) > I then moved to Belgium for a PhD... on peripheral nerve degeneration. > For my postdoc, I wanted a change of field (again), so I moved to the UK to study clathrin-mediated endocytosis. > In my group, in lovely Helsinki, we study endocytosis, adhesions and the cytoskeleton.

First post here. Starting the migration from the "dark side". I hope it will be easy to rebuild all connections.
