This increase in Outgoing Longwave Raditation (0.75 W/m² in 20 years!) led many climate sceptics (some ill intended, many honestly and understandably confused) to doubt the role of greenhouse gases. Without the 0.85 W/m² greenhouse gas forcing increase, 1.6 W/m² would now be leaving Earth as OLR!
