I’ve started reading poetry before bed as part of my goal to expand into a couple of genres/formats I want to give more attention to (the others being nonfiction and graphic novels). It’s turned out to be a really nice way to wind down!

There are few people I put energy towards hating because it’s bad for my mental health to dwell in that space instead of uplifting and protecting, but McConnell is top of that list for the immense harm he’s caused. He deserves no praise for offering a glass of water to combat a fire he orchestrated.

I made and canned jam today! Pear with saffron and vanilla bean. There were a few speed bumps getting there, but that soft POP as the jars cooled after the water bath was so satisfying. I’ll be sending them off to my friends across the country and I hope they can taste my love for them 🥰

Picked up our first box of our new CSA share this afternoon and immediately used some of the bok choy in it in the miso chicken & rice soup I made for dinner. Incredibly satisfying 🤤 I’m so excited for the weeks ahead!
