15 weeks ago I sat down and wrote up some ideas about how custom feeds could become a high-leverage mechanism for fundamentally changing the economics of the attention economy. Today was my last day at my day job- I’m now full time @graze.social! Incredibly excited to give this all I got!

I watched @devingaffney.com furiously rewrite this at least twice over the weekend and it is great they are open sourcing it. It is no small feat to make processing the firehose efficient while handling an unknown amount of users custom feeds.

Along with the trending feed you can see the pulse of video game content on bsky with my latest videos version again thanks to @graze.social I'm not able to watch this one as closely so you may see more non-gaming related videos than I'd like, working on that.

Been playing around with @graze.social more since the new video feeds feature dropped and I setup a feed of trending video game related videos, lots of game dev videos do well it seems. Even though I can't filter on video content, manage to have over 90% relevant videos.

To anyone thinking of building a video app on atproto (e.g. Tiktok-like) videos alone in a vertical feed are not enough. You will need to provide a way to build a FYP that people feel is actually personalized and that allows small creators ways to break through. Simply put, those are table stakes.

I have got to say, I have been enjoying my time with @zed.dev It is still early so doesn't have everything, but it is smooth, and as a former VIM user I like their approach. It also looks great, which is a major plus.

I'm a party pooper, I really don't care about new years. Hell most holidays don't register for me. Outside of having a day off of work and spending time with family, they are just another day like any other. Happy first day of January!
