This is what Democrats should be doing right now. One part of it is making the case in public. The other part of it is doing the work NOW to gather evidence for a legal case against these assholes later, so that can move quickly (unlike the Trump cases 2021-2024)

When Matt Stoller claimed the Trump FTC would "continue the antitrust legacy of Lina Khan," surely he meant "launch weird and baseless investigations of companies that don't want their ads associated with nazis," right?

Today I saw the executive director of the American Enterprise Institute attempt to address a conference room full of leaders of state human services agencies and I have never seen a speaker more reviled. Big swaths of the audience (myself included) simply walked out because he was such an asshole.

gonna be very funny when The Husband wakes up and asks me about my morning and I tell him I got blocked on Bluesky by an NYU Law professor He's gonna be like what do you mean you already had a law professor block you, it's only 9.30 in the morning, you haven't even had breakfast yet

The heartbreaking statement from Jonathan Joss’s husband about his death.

*makes a toxic post* "Huh, any way to keep other people from being toxic?"

“People will not lose their Medicaid unless they choose to do so," House Speaker Mike Johnson said. Several experts and organizations expose this for the lie that it is.

Just wrapped up a tour with @repgwenmoore.bsky.social of Wisconsin’s only ICE detention facility.

If I'm reading this correctly, then Yarvin wants the role of führer to be awarded via a Wings of Voice-style competition www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

Or we can put Thiel and everyone involved in Palantir who had wholly illegal access to Americans’ data in prison for life and never allow them access to a computer of any kind again.

Shoutout to @colapsito.bsky.social for this commission for a tabletop game project. Amazing communication and check-ins throughout, great attention to the references and the brief. Especially impressive considering the subject is outside their usual fair. Would recommend this freelancer to anybody.

Marco Rubio literally had a student kidnapped off the street for co-authoring an oped criticizing her university. And now he's complaining about censorship?

Marco Rubio, in his current job, took the official actions that led to Mahmoud Khalil and Rumeysa Öztürk being abducted and imprisoned for their speech in the United States.

he's one of the biggest, most-frequent liars in the world. among other things, he said the same thing last summer, before becoming the largest-ever campaign donor in American history. Yet this post by Baker and the headline treats his statement as true. don't print lies in the newspaper!

Oh ohhhhh now I get middle aged men’s whole deal with ChatGPT. They want it to get out of caregiving. This makes perfect sense.

This classic shallow argument runs cover for real ways that the response to the Covid pandemic has been all out class warfare, and is the perfect example of lazy, superficial “class analysis” that ignores the basic material conditions which actually define class under capitalism.

I subscribe to the @newyorker.com, I was part of ACT UP, I knew Larry Kramer well and know Tony Fauci too. Daniel Immerwahr's piece on RFKJr, features this and other passages that need a reponse. 1/

in addition to being stupid and existentially depraved, llms are organized crime

When I say we need to not be engaging in behavior that shuts out new talent and endangers the future of our craft, this is what I'm talking about. Finding success and then pulling up the ladder behind you is not leader-in-your-field behavior.

The way that I'd reconcile the first sentence with the second is that Enlightenment Now Guy is dancing his particular version of Richard Hanania's Enlightened Centrism two-step - www.programmablemutter.com/p/the-dsquar...

The two obvious flaws here are that 1) it makes policy choices reactive instead of proactive and 2) it ignores the problem being addressed by the (probably misguided) original idea: that there is a robust narrative universe that excludes Democratic ideas.

I don’t think it’s a particularly hot take to say the person who posted a timelapse of themself playing GTA V on the interstate in their Cybertruck should be in prison

if your grand approach to politics is bloodless poll-testing so that you're always aligned with wherever public opinion happens to be, you've already lost
