An open question for all: Where is the money that DOGE is disrupting going? Is there any accounting at all for this? It would be incredibly foolish to trust anybody, much less Musk in this. I hope we are not just assuming that it is all being returned to Treasury.

Again, this entire discussion is missing a key detail. Trump wants to fire EVERYONE who treated an attack on Congress, targeting key members of Congress by name. He's saying if you think defending Congress is part of your job, you're fired.
