Did a bit on the Philly FOX affiliate about the Philly Bierfest this morning. Always good to talk beer to a larger audience. Got a good plug in for My Local Brew Works (home brewers gone pro), and two local cheese makers. Good day!

Planning my trip to the NYS Brewers Assoc. judging next week. As in, how many flasks do I have available, and what whiskeys should I put in them? #pocketwhiskey #whiskeyeducation

Is ANYONE trying to create a live-action Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang movie...The original Ian Fleming text, with peril, and gangsters, and explosions, and heroic candy makers, with Idris Elba as Commander Caractacus Pott RN? Because I'd wait in line overnight to see that.

Real talk about beer prices. This is how it works.

A Bluesky question. Recently I've seen posts by people I follow that show that they have a dozen or more comments. Yet when I click on them, I see no comments. What's going on there? @support.bsky.team

Fellow beer writer and Pennsylvanian Jay Brooks has created a series of AI-generated Funko Pop beer celebrities. Yesterday, for my birthday, he did me. Thanks! (This is actually an outtake: the one he used is laughing less exuberantly, but I liked this one better.)

New Kansas City single malt. It's unpeated.

Took the opportunity of being in SE PA to stop in and grab some Baltic Thunder at Victory Brewing in Downingtown. I helped formulate it, way back when; great to see it back on tap. Had a beer with old friends & colleagues Bryan Kolesar (pictured) & Lew Gibbs. OUTSTANDING Baltic porter.

Not a political post: what happened to the Swedish ivy that's been on the mantle of the Oval Office since 1961? What's all the brass stuff? Is this temporary? Does anyone know the real answer?

The voice of the PA wilds, explaining the best reason to watch the Super Bowl: the spread. The buffet spread.

I thirst for this beer. I hope, after 35 years, that this is the year I finally get to England to freely, purposefully drink cask ale. Great writing, as always.

Looking for help leaving Twitter. The main reason I'm still on there is the rich military history community. I like reading about battleships and warplanes; actually, any kind of aircraft. Are there good accounts here for that kind of thing? Because I'd love to leave Twitter.

Actual road sign at an intersection outside Liverpool, PA. Trying desperately to work this into a podcast episode. I think it would be great practice for reading ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING with a straight face. (Also wonder how many people stop to take this picture.)

How #tariffs will affect the alcohol industry

This is your official notice: Dry January Is Over. The bar is now open.

Visited The Bunkers Of Alvira today. Long-abandoned WW2 ammo bunkers in rural PA. LOTS of graffiti. Didn't smell of piss, which was a pleasant surprise, but a ton of junk in there. Unrestricted (unmotorized) access on PA Game Lands. Cool.

Shooting some relatively rare bottles in my basement bar for my next book, coming out later this year! @michterswhiskey.bsky.social #HeavenHill
