I’m weak—I couldn’t resist! Today, I recorded an even better spectrum of isolated water in CDCl₃. 5 μL of 10% ¹⁷O-enriched water in 600 μL of CDCl₃, with some agitation for dispersion. Similar to Mateescu’s 1979 results, but the earliest ¹⁷O NMR of water vapor I know is from 1967 (Florin & Alei).

Must die, must die, this magnet must die! Tomorrow, this old English guy will be decommissioned. It was installed in 1993. It has served chemists @UNamur for a long time, but now, it's time to go. #NMR
