Dear Ontario followers: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD VOTE OH MY GOD PLEASE. The election is this Thursday! February 27th! We had a HORRIFIC voter turnout last election and the current administration is trying to take advantage of low voter turnout with this snap election! Screw that! VOTE!!! ✨

#LongCovid #MECFS #POTS people — has anyone successfully got in home care covered by insurance? It’s been a couple of years since I last tried (and was denied). I appreciate any advice/suggestions on how to approach this. Thanks!

Harriet McBryde Johnson: disabled people take conditions that people would never ask for and make beautiful, thriving lives out of them. We have to remind ourselves that there will always be disabled people living thriving lives. There will always be moments of beauty and joy. #LongCovid #ME/CFS

Finished last night.

My first improv quilt is finally done! I threw out the rulebook and all my perfectionism with this one so I could embrace all the weird and wonky parts. She’s partly inspired by the 19c Victorian “crazy quilt” and feedsack quilts from the 1930s. // EMBRACE THE WEIRD // Cotton and linen, 2025

Big piece update - 8 days of work and maybe halfway done. Unfortunately the thumb in my stitching hand is shredded so all needle pulls have to be done with pliers. I refuse to slow down 😍 #FiberArt #HandEmbroidery 1/30 panels in a #NeuroArt #SciArt piece #Art

If you see this, share a skeleton. Here my reference for a lil project I got goin on today 🥰

Book 18/52 for 2025: In Mercy, Rain by Seanan McGuire. A Wayward Children novella so it was short. It was nice to get a bit more backstory on Jack. The whole series is fantastic!

My feed is full of anglerfish swimming to the surface and anglerfish art, so I thought I would share a throwback: my anglerfish linocut on beautiful Japanese cloud unryu paper with visible fibres. #linocut #printmaking 🧪🐡

I know there's folks who've been following me a while who wonder why I go on about alt text amid the horrors but to me, it's all 1 thing. Whether it's masking, honoring trans people, providing government services to people who rely on them... it's all about empathy and community. It's all connected.

Occasional reminder that the mute and block buttons exist, as does the ability to mute certain words or people you don’t want to hear about in settings. You can even mute someone’s username in settings so you don’t see when people tag them!

A bunch of folks have asked me for my kofi link to help me out while I'm in the hospital which is really really kind 💚 I don't have any expectations for funds but here it is if you've been looking for it 💚 ko-fi.com/stasanie

It was all about artisan couture ateliers with students today from flower workers to embroiderers. We also discussed plisseurs, those skilled craftspeople working with cardboard moulds to create glorious pleats. 1930s pleated dress @chertseymuseum.bsky.social & sample by Lognon #FashipnHistory 🗃️🪡

It's Nice To Be Disliked (By One Of Those)

Book 17/52 for 2025: Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro. An odd book but I enjoyed it. Sociological sci-fi but I felt some aspects weren’t explained enough given their importance to the story. I was in hospital while reading this one so I may have missed a few things 😅

For Day 4's #FishyFeb prompt, catfish, I went with the Mekong Giant Catfish. They're endangered from overfishing - so here's giving the humans a well-deserved side-eye. 👀🐡🎨 #art #artists #SciArt #fish #animal #nature #wildlife #sketchbook #drawing #illustration

🩸 BLOOD BOND 🩸 (from '22 and inspired by vampire bats french kissing with blood to bond with each other, so why not vampires)! :)

Long shot, but has anyone here with pretty severe complex illness or rare disease gone through moving between provinces? How did you navigate things like arranging specialist care to move to? How did you bridge the 3 month gap in healthcare coverage? Anything else I should know?

I have been so excited since I found out this would be announced today! RIP any ability for me to concentrate: www.apple.com/tv-pr/news/2...
