A little silver lining from Montana and wisdom for the nationwide fight to protect Medicaid: “Republican Sen. Jason Ellsworth, who voted against Medicaid expansion’s renewal in 2019, said he had come around to Medicaid expansion because his own family has benefited.” www.mtpr.org/montana-news...

Maybe I just miss being 12

I miss when I was stressed that George W. Bush was going to see what library books I checked out

There's a lot of Trump stuff that's just bluster - this isn't it. Senate Rs have taken the first step towards cutting Medicaid and SNAP. The bill will be filibuster-proof and therefore can be passed with the slim trifecta that Rs have. This is very real.

If Colorado adopts a one-year student count to determine education funding (per Polis’ proposal), and ICE raids keep kids out of school… there will be less $ available for *every student.* Trump’s anti-immigrant policies hurt all of us.

Issue no. 2 of The Flyer is still available! While subscriptions start with the current issue (no. 3), you can still buy back issues while supplies last. “World-building: An Introduction” touches upon fundamentals of world-building and how that ultimately translates into how we dress.

If you are in danger unless you comply with a regime, you are in danger whether you comply or not

our collective takeaway from this week is that government does and funds stuff we need and even …like… and when it doesn’t, bad things happen. right?

today is terrible but a senator did ask for the link to my 2023 budget week playlist so my spirit remains unbroken

Brutally cold tonight here in Boulder. Glad we have a place for everyone to come in and get warm. Hace un frío brutal esta noche aquí en Boulder. Me alegro de que tengamos un lugar para que todos entren y se calienten.

Man. It’s just really wild to have thought Jan. 6 was a turning point four years ago. Which I guess it was, just not the one we thought it would be.

Okay, chatted with budget lawyers about this. As written, this pretty plainly calls for the United States to violate its contractual obligations by failing to disburse funds that have already been legally obligated.

One of the things Elon got stripped out of the government funding bill was help for people who have their SNAP nutrition benefits stolen. True Ebenezer Scrooge stuff. www.cbpp.org/blog/congres...

A few Dem senators helped killed the algorithmic rent setting ban last year. Now, one of their seats -- in the heart of Denver -- is open. Promising to support the ban when it is reintroduced should be a requirement for anyone hoping to represent SD31. #copolitics

Republicans want to cut non-defense discretionary 15% to pay for disaster relief. They named it DOGE. They want to pay for hurricane relief by cutting WIC, by cutting education assistance for kids with disabilities, by cutting funding to keep our drinking water clean. docs.house.gov/billsthiswee...

social murder (direct control of people's ability to access healthcare, exerting lobbying and donor power to protect the ability to control people's ability to access healthcare) is perpetual

“The astonishing speed at which’s the Assad regime has crumbled exposes once again the inherent fragility of seemingly ironclad dictatorships, and of all governments whose rule is based on repression and corruption.” May all oppressed people take heart, and (aspiring) dictators take note✊🏻🖤
