No doubt last night’s purge reflects racism and misogyny. But those wrongs are just a cover for the far more serious evils and dangers that exist here.

To the @GOP senators and Congressmen who claim to support Ukraine, you do have some power… if you’re unwilling to exercise it then don’t pretend to care about your country more than your political career:

Trump is rewriting the history of Russia’s invasion: Ukraine is not a victim but a villain and Zelensky not a latter-day Churchill but a “dictator without elections” who started the war. He seems to be laying a predicate for abandoning an ally under attack www.nytimes.com/2025/02/19/u...

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not a dictator. He is a champion of democracy, freedom and truth.

Trump - with his devotion to Putin, abandonment of Ukraine, and lies about history- is the antithesis of everything Ronald Reagan stood for. He is aligning America with the enemies of the very freedom that generations have fought and died to defend.

Trump trashes Zelensky as a dictator. Still has never said a negative word about Putin. Idk whether Europe/Ukraine has figured this out yet - but you are on your own. You have no friend in the current US govt & Republicans in Congress who said they supported you will say nothing.

taking black kids away from their parents and putting them on farms seems really familiar to me! what could it be?

Why does a 38-year old U.S. Attorney in SDNY, who is also a die hard conservative, have more guts and integrity than the entirety of the GOP Senate Conference combined?! Shame on the shameless sycophants and enablers there, who can’t find the spine to stand up to common MAGA bullies.

The "large scale social deception" contract Musk is conspiracizing about was: * first awarded under Trump * paid to Reuters' data division, not the newsroom * for researching *defenses* against deception * not revealed by "DOGE investigations" and was a public record, visible online for many years

So, let's go over this whole $9 million Reuters thing: -- it was first awarded UNDER TRUMP -- it wasn't paid to the news agency but rather an entirely different Reuters division that does data analysis -- it was to help PREVENT phishing and cyber attacks www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

He's not a "kid." He's an adult, with an important govt job. The posts weren't "stupid." They were hatefully racist. His life isn't "ruined." He lost a job. Holding a govt employee accountable is not a "reward" for a journalist. The reporter doesn't get a cookie.

Iowa’s Governor either won’t stand up for the Lutheran church/Lutheran Social service orgs or she believes the baseless lies that they are money laundering. Which is it @IAGovernor ?

To fool the poorly educated, the Trump administration has reposted deportation press releases dating to 2008 with a 2025 time stamp, making Google search results misleading suggest mass removals. Obama still ranks 1st in 21st Century deportations, FYI. Below from The Guardian:

Federal agents are stopping Navajos, in one case holding eight people for two hours, Arizona Public Broadcasting, and the Arizona Republic report. azpbs.org/horizon/2025...

This is a great summing up of Trump... "The thing most frightening about Donald Trump is he doesn't know what he doesn't know and doesn't seem to care about what he doesn't know, and as a result of that, he doesn't know what the consequences of his actions might be." Charlie Sykes

BREAKING: Federal unions, represented by @democracyforward.bsky.social, sue to block DOGE from accessing sensitive Department of Labor data. This marks the latest lawsuit against the faux agency for attempting to unlawfully obtain government information.

Canadian MP Charlie Angus: He choked. The market started to tank, and suddenly, he said, “Oh, didn’t you guys already have a plan to deal with the border back in December? I love that—I’ll take that.” This is Mr. Art of the Deal.

Holy sh*t. They really don't care about health -- or life and death -- of any of us. Sen. Bill Cassidy "agonized" and then condemned us all to this result. He once took an oath to do no harm. So much for oaths (as we have seen too many times). www.nytimes.com/2025/02/04/u...

Murphy: "This is a constitutional crisis that we are in today. Let's call it what it is."

What do we call it when someone who has not been elected takes control of the government inconsistent with any constitutional provision and who claims he’s voiding lawful mandates of the legislature?

For those farmers and farm adjacent folks that voted for Trump, what you’re about to feel re the tariffs we warned you about. Don’t pretend ya didn’t know

I'm not surprised by trump's disgustingly negative attitude about disabled people. It's who he is, and who he's always been. This should have been the end.

Fellow NSA - National Security Agency veterans. Look at what’s happened at the National Cryptologic Museum. They covered up with brown paper the photos of Women in American Cryptology. All in response to President Trump’s anti-diversity executive order.
