I created a feed for the hashtags #treatycity #luimni #luinmí #limerickcity so hopefully we can find some more none poem Limerick related content. It is going to take a minute to populate but should pull in all those hashtags. bsky.app/profile/did:...

A lovely morning at the Amazing Lace Symposium.

If you dropped someone from late 19th century Limerick at the cross roads of Roches Street and O'Connell Street, they would have a hard time recognising the place. First, a street name would be wrong. The buildings with arrows are completely different, and it is missing a hotel and porch.

The 1955 film 'Untamed' with Tyrone Power & Susan Hayward starts with a voiceover "This is County Limerick, Ireland, the year is 1847" then shows a scene of the hunt galloping across the countryside as the credits roll. Within 10 minutes they head to South Africa. It is awful, do not recommend!

My gayness is ever present in Limerick that I was spotted in this streetscape 😁

Whenever people try to tell me that the city was cleaner/tidier back in the day I like to pull out close up of streetscapes like from the turn of the 20th century. Young boy outside William B Smith's general hardware and seed store 28 Patrick Street. (Image Lawrence collection, NLI). #luimni

The excitement in this poster for the in 1895 Garryowen festival! At the festival there were military displays, fun fair activities (merry-go-rounds, swings etc,) pony jumping competitions, fire works on two nights, clay pigeon shooting competition among many of the sights. #treatycity

@weirdireland.bsky.social Finally caught up with my podcasts and heard you on Shitetalk History. Don't know which one of you mentioned it but that statue crying lambs blood was a bit out there!

This is news we like to see!! #luimní #limerickcity

Treecreeper (Certhia familiaris) at a site in Co. Limerick. These little birds climb up tree trunks, exploring bark and crevices with their long, downturned, sharp bills to pick out insects and spiders.

Next time you are waking under or over Sarsfield Bridge, Limerick glance at the 1916 monument. You will see remnants of a building... a door, windows and a chimney that surfaced out of a pillar of the monument! This building was used by the operator of the swivel bridge. #treatycity #speirgorm
