The George Inn at Norton St Philip (Somerset) has the strongest claim to be Britain's oldest pub. On Thu 17 April I'll be be speaking there and explaining how buildings archaeology was key to understanding this amazing place. More info & booking here: www.designmynight.com/bath/pubs/ge...

A very GM from NE England. Hope you are all well. This morning's image comes from close to home, in Newcastle. I used a light desaturation in Lightroom to get this look. #photograghy #PhotographyIsArt #Newcastle

Ever noticed the gaps, and intrusions of modern houses in an 18thC or Victorian #London street? Quite possibly the results of WW2 bombs. From 24 Feb you can consult the digitised #LondonCountyCouncil Air Raid Reports 1940-1945 in the #Mediatheque at #LondonArchives. These reports are such gems

Really struggling to find any written sources (books, articles, websites, blogs etc) to secret passage and hidden tunnel folklore in Oakham (Rutland). Given the sheer number of historic buildings in the town surely this place cannot be immune to the genre!?

oh dear!

Early this morning, I visited Yurong Street in Sydney’s Darlinghurst. For the Gadigal People and speakers, Yurong means rain.

The south porch at Rayleigh, Essex of about 1500, the red brick familiar from many a building of the time in the county. #AdoorableThursday

The harbour of St Michael’s Mount, you can just see the causeway beginning to reappear as the tide goes out so we can get back to the mainland.

To brighten a grey and rainy day! 💛🌷❤️🌷💜 @photohour.bsky.social #Flowers #FlowerPhotography #Photography #NaturePhotography

The Vic Soc is calling on @ealingcouncil.bsky.social to put a Building Preservation Order on East Lodge at Lammas Park, Ealing. We are also objecting to the unnecessary demolition of this lodge which makes such a positive contribution to the local area. Make Objections here: bit.ly/4bdfI4c
