This was YEARS in the making but my first solo authored publication is out. I do more than rant on social media. I also study situational trust! www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

Excellent piece in the NY Times on the challenges facing Europe. But, if Riker is right, this sort of external threat is more likely to strengthen European integration than weaken it. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/27/w...

It was great to be on The Europeans podcast to talk about the German election, Friedrich Merz, the normalization of the AfD and what to expect for the future.

So excited to see our new book out - UN Peacekeeping and the Politics of Authoritarianism with amazing colleagues @oisintansey.bsky.social, @kseniyaoksamytna.bsky.social, and Sarah von Billerbeck!

With greetings from Sweden to friends in Baden-Württemberg 😂

DEADLINE TODAY! Send us your special issue ideas today! We want to hear your ideas, so please don't hesitate. Check out the guidelines and submit here 👇 buff.ly/4itg21G

How do you know when a mechanism is externally valid? In“ Sign-Congruence, External Validity, and Replication,” @tara-slough.bsky.social and @scottatyson.bsky.social develop a framework for accumulating evidence across multiple studies and develop theoretical foundations for replication.

From our new issue: "Going Negative in Autocracy: A Field Experiment at the Moscow Mayoral Elections" www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

IN NEW ISSUE: Is generalised trust stable or changeable? @michaelkumove.bsky.social examines the cultural & experiential theories of generalised trust & suggests some new directions for the topic. Read OPEN ACCESS: https://buff.ly/4aS93w6 @uoypolitics.bsky.social @polstudiesassoc.bsky.social

Elon Musk biographer here. The "missing context" from the op-ed below is that Musk has been spreading racist and antisemitic memes, screenshots, graphs, charts, unsourced narratives, tropes, and buzzwords for 18 months now. Publicly. Daily. The Post either knows this or should not be in business.

So pleased to see @stockholm-uni.bsky.social joining Bluesky! Hope more universities and political actors will follow.

Now on #FirstView, from Stacie Goddard & @colleen-larkin.bsky.social www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

🙌 In a new commentary we show that #business actors and #NGOs tend to trust the #UNFCCC but they see few opportunities for meaningful engagement, despite the opening up of the COPs (survey data from 2021-22 that includes marginalized populations). #polisky #climatechange rdcu.be/d8HbF

My thoughts are with the families and friends of the ten victims, and with the municipalities and schools that all think about and have to deal with this tragedy sverigesradio.se/play/artikel...

you know shit’s crazy when a catholic group can condemn a nazi salute but the ADL can’t

It’s a smile! #dogsky #forest

🚨New publication! Very happy to share that my paper is now online Open Access in a @the-peio.bsky.social special issue on domestic politics and IOs: Naming and shaming in UN treaty bodies: individual petitions’ effect on human rights link.springer.com/article/10.1...

We have updated our geocoded aid data (GODAD) until 2023. Check them out at godad.me.

Interested in how politicians speak about international organizations in parliament? IOParlspeech is a new dataset of IO-related parliamentary speeches in six countries, which allows for a variety of analyses. Our forthcoming article in @the-peio.bsky.social describes the dataset in detail.

I wrote a joint paper about this in the EU financial crisis context (also published in @the-peio.bsky.social in 2020) so this goes straight in my reading pile

What a nice way to start work in the new year: Tom Hunter’s and my article introducing a new dataset on how IOs are discussed in parliaments just came out in RIO, as part of a special issue on domestic politics and IOs edited by @reneebowen.bsky.social, Lawrence Broz & @cjschneider.bsky.social

@adreher.bsky.social, the one who started it all & has made @the-peio.bsky.social a cornerstone of the field, closing down another excellent PEIO conference. 17 years of building a great community of scholars on the political economy of international organizations. Next year in Segovia!

Thrilled to see this article out @iojournal.bsky.social! We show that people perceive international organizations as ideological and consider them more legitimate if they are ideologically closer to people's own beliefs. @meckerehrhardt.bsky.social @lisadellmuth.bsky.social tinyurl.com/3mthuj3v

Excited to fly to @the-peio.bsky.social @harvard.edu - see you there!

Presidents can’t just order up what they want – they must navigate constraints from Congress, the courts, and public opinion when using them to shape policy. A political science professor explains: https://buff.ly/40oRjni (Sharece Thrower @vanderbilt.edu) #polisky

This. Was muss dafür bitte noch passieren? #eXit

This is deeply disturbing and I think it should be a turning point in transatlantic relations. How many wake up calls does Europe need. History has taught us where going easy on or ignoring Nazis can lead. And as once in Nazi Germany, big business lines up behind the fascists to make more money.
