Such a joy to take part in the celebration of the repatriation and restoration of the Mariegola manuscript returned to Venice from Boston thanks to my research. Of course it would have been even better if I'd actually BEEN in Venice!

Hi, new followers! Now that I've officially moved here from the bird site, I'd like to introduce myself & my work. I'm a paleographer, codicologist, and specialist in the study of pre-1600 European manuscripts and manuscript culture. I'm particularly interested in how MSS ended up in US collections.

Sure, the illustrations in the #Voynich manuscript are bizarre and the script is indecipherable, but what can we learn about the manuscript's history just by close observation? (here's f. 77v and f. 78)
