The man attempting to preserve the internet before it vanishes. The Trump administration is removing certain government websites. The director of the Wayback Machine discusses what actions we can take.

This is the high quality content I’m here for

GOOD MORNING! Here's our regular weekly round-up of good writing about beer and pubs, with more juicy nuggets than longreads this week. 🍺🍻 boakandbailey.com/2025/02/news...

Some of us, not so secretly.

Overhearing my son singing in the other room just now: "Twinkle twinkle little duck. You are nice but you look like a BUTT." And then uproarious laughter 3-year-olds, man

I'm writing a book about accessible communication with @matissenelis.com and it's available for pre-order: uk.bookshop.org/p/books/acce... #Accessibility #a11y #Communications

I've something similar in the preface of our book on accessible communications @matissenelis.com "All new restaurants should employ someone over 50 to check whether the print on the menu is big enough to be read, the lighting bright enough for it to be read by" www.theguardian.com/food/2025/fe...

Had my inaugural visit to The Rutty meeting up with @cathywoo.bsky.social and it's every bit as glorious as this write-up

Anyone for a Rutland Butland? Today we are heading to The Rutland Arms to see what makes it such a special pub. (No, we don't dare touch the jukebox either) www.pelliclemag.com/home/2025/2/...

Tomorrow night we're @thegreengoddesspub.bsky.social at Blackheath Standard. @lisariemers.bsky.social will be there from 6.30 - pop in on your way home from work or stay all evening! #ItsPubOClock

GUYS, stop whatever the fuck you're doing. I'm fucking serious. STOP! Pam St Clement's autobiography is called End of an Earring.

Loving this pic that's doing the rounds at the moment. It was taken by the actor Steven Berkoff who roamed the streets of Glasgow taking snaps when he wasn't on stage: www.streetlevelphotoworks.org/event/steven...

Perhaps we *do* need to start anthropomorphising LLMs - not as reliable researchers or trusty assistants, but as familiar spirits or demons. They WILL lie and deceive, and twist your words, and seek to get you into trouble, while following the letter of their instructions.

I see Sean Bean has his own range of pizzas in the Netherlands.

My son has invented some manner of complex dice game he's trying to teach his friends and, let me tell you, there is some Cones of Dunshire shit going on right now.

"There is still so little available to read on Slavic mythology in English (and for adults), and The Slavic Myths is to be welcomed as a wonderful introduction to the matrix of story in the cultures of Eastern Europe". My review: drfrancisyoung.com/2025/02/15/r... @thamesandhudson.bsky.social

"You're not my surreal Dad!"

Okay Bluesky, this is the greatest thing I have ever made and now it’s here for you. Mr Blobby in the Virtual Insanity video.

In fun shrinkflation news, your cats aren't [necessarily] hungrier than before, the Felix and Whiskas pouches that used to be 100g are now 85g. Still a few older ones at 100g but on the shelf they're now priced as 85g too

I feel like this terrible punnery from The Upper Scale fish folks should be both applauded and derided in equal measure, definitely falling into the so-bad-its-good territory (unlike their fish, which is usually excellent) theupperscale.co.uk

If we’re renaming bodies of water based on petty grievances, I propose that this be renamed the Kendrick Lamar passage.

Absolutely fascinating deep dive on the new Piccadilly line trains. Can't wait until these actually come into service www.reddit.com/r/LondonUnde...

Do you want to get out and talk about important yet inconsequential* topics like the best and worst flavour of crisps**? Want to meet new people? Or catch up with pals? Join us @thegreengoddesspub.bsky.social next Thursday 20th #ItsPubOClock * I guess reflux is a consequence **topic still TBA

What does it mean for the UK to follow the US and not sign the French AI Summit Statement? Blog post on the descent of global AI policy in to WWE-style showmanship, and where that leaves the UK.

I'm not doomscrolling, I'm just doing Apocalypse Tourism

Wikipedia is rolling out anonymity features piloted in countries with authoritarian governments in the US & is making a change to not show editor IP addresses in response to a global "increase in threats" from Elon Musk, Heritage Foundation, and governments www.404media.co/wikipedia-pr...

BBC just released damning research on AI assistants' news accuracy. Results: 51% of AI responses had significant issues. 19% introduced errors when citing BBC. 13% misquoted or made up BBC content entirely. 🤐🤐 www.bbc.co.uk/aboutthebbc/... via @ezraeeman.bsky.social

Gouda* heck did this get through? *I'm relying on what I believe to be the Dutch pronunciation here, where "g" is a kind of guttural H sound... ...because jokes are better when you have to explain them.
