The SNL music documentary, Ladies & Gentlemen... 50 Years of SNL Music, is super well done. Especially the first intro segment. Co-directed by Questlove!!! You can see his love for music in this documentary!!

😂😂😂

We have been working on to launch our new iteration of our product. Local-first, markdown-based, versioned by git. Onboarding is still rough. We will be coming out with better templates and examples soon. Please check it out and give us your thoughts!

every year, I keep entering the lottery and never getting it. Don't know why I keep doing it though.

At Moment, we heavily use prosemirror and react for our text editor. They are great libraries and the journey to get them working well has been hard. This post does a great job explaining why it’s hard and the solution he built, which is what we do today! smoores.dev/post/why_i_r...

I’m mad that there are no clips of the performances of the Grammys on YouTube. I want to see dochiee’s performance so bad!!

This past week, I’ve been writing a lot of Rust with the libgit2 FFI bindings. I am surprised how much I’ve been enjoying it vs Zig/C.

I found that Peter Attia has the perfect voice for helping me fall asleep. It’s just enough jargon to keep me interested but not too interesting to keep me awake and focused.

Ok I was on Instagram stories and someone posted a screenshot of a Reddit post, which my old eyes cannot read . Found the Reddit post. It’s probably fake, but I also want to believe some SOC II audit report has “no cap frfr” www.reddit.com/r/csMajors/s...

In all seriousness, this is kind of sad. I think memory safe languages is better at creating less buggy software and software that requires less patching

I really loved Dave Patterson’s article on his reflections on his 50 year career!! cacm.acm.org/opinion/life...

King County SAR decided to fund a new helicopter in their fleet and retire a 10 year old helicopter back in October. It’s already being put to good use and saving lives. I did not know these helicopters can fly at night. youtu.be/zsBIl5HNBrk?...

Ok, digging into libgit2. Did I think I would be here? No… I was today years old when I discovered “git pull” is really “git fetch <your remote name>” and “git merge” all the matching refs Also “git merge” is very hard and most other libraries choose to exec out to git / libgit2 🙃

I don’t know if I’m just hanging around with too many CS language ppl, but this is the second time I’ve heard the idea of using react jsx as a declarative language to describe resources other than UI layout. Sounds crazy but when I read the prototype code, it kind of slaps?

My year-end report of Strava! Maybe this year, I can cross the 200k mark of vert!

Man, SNL weekend update was on fire this week. That “sea man” joke got me gasping youtu.be/DqH_S0M7DBc?...

And I guess TikTok is back? 🍿🍿🍿 That was fast.

Ahhhh finally!!!!!

philcalcado.com/2024/12/14/b... TDLR: building AI agents is a distributed systems problems and they modeled an agent as an stateful service (they call it a distributed object) with event bus to communicate between the services .

Okay my whole team uses Cursor ai. Going to give it another shot as it’s been awhile. Last I tried, it was too buggy for my day-to-day. But will give it another go

Glad to see @eve6.bsky.social is on 🦋! Once of my favorite favorite follows from the birdsite

Not sure if this is useful to anyone, but if you need Windows code signing and don’t want to pay digitcert thousands of dollars a year, Microsoft Trusted Signing is in public preview and free. melatonin.dev/blog/code-si...

I’m really enjoying using ghostty.org as my terminal. It’s pretty fast and the aesthetics are really nice. I also love that it takes my dot files and “just works” with my current configuration right out of the gate. The only main feature I’m missing is search.

Came back from a wonderful backcountry hut trip in interior BC, Canada. I have so many pretty photos, but I really want to share the beautiful art my crew made during the up track!

Snow was good enough to go for a 6K day. Started before sunrise, ended after sunset
