There's still enough freedom in the world where people can vote with their wallets... www.politico.eu/article/tesl...

NEW: Trump plans to sign an executive order to overtake the USPS by dissolving its leadership and placing it under his administration. This move would grant them immense power over mail-in ballots, a key target in Republican election fraud rhetoric.

The Democratic Party has no idea how angry its base is. Lead, right now, or get out of the way.

Exactly.

SCOOP: The world is likely to see millions more malaria infections and 200,000 cases of paralytic polio each year, according to a whistle-blower from USAID. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/02/h...

Beyond parody — after taking a blowtorch to the federal government the Trump administration is now in court saying they can’t obey court orders because their staff has been cut 🤔

Nat’l forests/parks are under attack. Nature needs help. As long as I have breath in my lungs and a way to put my feet in the woods, I will protect our rights. Seek and protect the trees. Lend your voice. Ents, Lorax, wardens of the land, we must protect the wild, quiet, unique spaces.

As of today, a new term has entered our language. A “rubio” is a spineless lump of nothing. Example: Don’t be such a rubio.

We apologize to our Ukrainian supporters. We are embarrassed by how our president and vice president have behaved. We are fighting to redeem the soul of America. 🇺🇸

Trump just terminated funding for polio, HIV, malaria, and nutrition programs around the world, including: * A $131 million grant to UNICEF's polio immunization program * A $90 million contract with the company Chemonics for bed nets, malaria tests and treatments www.nytimes.com/2025/02/27/h...

Ding, ding, ding.

I'm stepping on the theme of Chris' book here but, we have an extremely toxic information environment controlled by wealthy oligarchs who have aligned themselves with Trump, the whole point is to manipulate people into making poor decisions. bsky.app/profile/chri...

i think anyone should be allowed to be a little angry at anyone who voted for a guy who said that immigrants are eating your pets in a widely publicized debate. but yeah the bigger failure here were journalists who just absolutely refused to tell you trump was lying about things like free ivf.

Bezos in Oct: We can't endorse because we must avoid any perception of bias. Bezos in Feb: Our op-ed pages will now be entirely devoted to two particular biases.

Brave, important piece here from @peterbakernyt.bsky.social. If he's sending a warning like this, it means the light is flashing red.

Reminder for everyone to watch your phone hygiene!

Maddow tries to shake Jeffries into meeting the moment: "Policy doesn't feel like the main convo…we are in the middle of a Ketamine-fueled autocratic power grab rendering Congress irrelevant, making the rule of law an afterthought if not a joke”: Full: www.instagram.com/reel/DGe93bq...

Two Republican-held districts have the most Coloradans on Medicaid. This same story is playing out across the country. TRANSLATION: Trump voters chose hate—and forgot they rely on Medicaid. Oops.

A party that fears its own voters

The DC press turns every story into a win or loss for the president. That's particularly nuts on a night like tonight when the House just voted to take food from millions of kids.

An old post from @roguenasa.bsky.social but on Twitter. It is even more important now. From: They Thought They Were Free The Germans, 1933-45 Milton Mayer

Democratic Leaders Stand Real Still In Hopes No One Notices Them

Join us in solidarity—fly your American flag upside down, the traditional signal of distress and extreme emergency.

"Multiple kidneys had to be thrown out because of transport delays — couriers not picking them up in time or airlines misplacing them. One was accidentally left on an airport luggage trolley." www.propublica.org/article/trum...

OK but does it know the Three Laws?

Joy Reid refused to toe the line and for that she lost her show. Shameful decision. www.forbes.com/sites/markjo...

MSNBC firing Joy Reid before Mika and Joe tells you all you need to know.

MSNBC has canceled Joy Reid and Alex Wagner’s shows.

Enrique Tarrio and some Proud Boys just showed up at the JW Marriott trying to get into the Principles First conference, where several J6 cops are speakers.

Hey - Elroy wants to know what we got done this week. #AltGov added some new accounts, has been interviewed by multiple outlets, organized some upcoming actions, & dispelled his own lies about the astronauts on ISS. Comment what you did to #Resist. #WhatDidYouDoElon

He nails it.

Anthony Hopkins once said: "Power doesn't change people, it just takes away the need to pretend. The righteous protects, the ambitious abuses, the insecure becomes a tyrant. It is not power that corrupts, it is the true face of each one that emerges when there is no longer fear of the consequences."

This is very, very bad. Am working on a write-up, but let’s just say that firing military leaders for blatantly political reasons is wildly inappropriate; firing all the too lawyers is ominous; firing them all at the same time is a terrifying five-alarm fire

A letter to my school's district on Friday at the end of February break: "For Niskayuna" Friends, I will not be at school on Monday. I will not be putting in for personal time or sick days, because the time I intend to take does not fall under either category.

Rep Raskin has been great. Rep Ocasio-Cortez has been great. And Rep Frost and Rep Crockett. Senator Murphy. Maybe no one knew exactly what to do. But such people laid down a clear marker. Let’s respect these and other elected federal representatives who stood out these first few weeks.
