I saw this exchange on Twitter today and I can’t get it out of my brain. What does “fictional” mean for this commenter in this context? I guess he means that onomatopoeias are invented, or “made up” words. There are “real” words in the dictionary, but we make up fictional words like “vworp.” 1/x

Hard to put things any clearer than @zitron.bsky.social does here. This weird alienation shows across a wide variety of fields - policy, business, journalism, streaming services, LLM use, social media, hardware… The question “who wants this” is so pervasive but hard to answer. It’s very discouraging
