When we embody our truth, we move differently in the world: how we interpret events, how we interact with others, and how others respond to us. And when we do this work in community, the energy of a group becomes greater than the sum of its parts. open.substack.com/pub/livelove...

To feel the suffering of the world is to love the world. To grieve is to have cared deeply. So what do we do with this? How do we hold both the sorrow and the love, the grief and the beauty? livelovemaria.substack.com/p/when-the-h...

You are here because, despite the doubt, the moments of forgetting and losing sight of your bigger vision, you have found ways to hold onto walking your path to the Solarpunk future. And yet, the question lingers: What holds the vision when you cannot? livelovemaria.substack.com/p/tending-th...

In this article, I talk about @streampunk76.bsky.social 's upcoming sci-fi anthology "Beowulfs of the Webs" and the back cover art I made for it. open.substack.com/pub/livelove...

For writers, artists, and anyone wanting to hone their observation skills, looking at a piece of art for an extended period is a great way to practice noticing. It's also a nice beauty break. #seeing #noticing #mindfulness #beautybreak #timeout #artsky #writingsky www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

I see the power of collective energy. When one of us rises in clarity and alignment, it creates ripples for others. When we ground ourselves in our purpose, we don’t just move forward alone—we propel each other forward toward something greater. livelovemaria.substack.com/p/for-those-...

last summer I displayed my books at a crafts fair and met a woman who’d just bought a used book store. now I am a volunteer at said store, AND we have produced an anthology of science fiction and fantasy stories to be released next month… Beowulfs of the Webs, coming soon! #booksky

In our latest episode on the Becoming Mindful Podcast, we delve into the profound question: How can mindfulness serve as a catalyst for change? This inquiry opens a doorway to understanding the intricate dance between inner awareness and external action. open.substack.com/pub/livelove...

People say practicing mindfulness is not DOING something. But it gives us the tools to KEEP doing something.

Today, Jackie and I recorded a new podcast episode, 1st of a new 3-month cycle, airing on February 1st. This time, we are talking about how mindfulness is a catalyst for change. Read about our recent 3-month cycle — Mindfulness Routines — in my recent post: livelovemaria.substack.com/p/building-m...

I have a suggestion for you. In times of trouble and strife, there is therapeutic benefit in being among trees and in physical contact with them. So if you can, go hug a tree today, the bigger the better. This huge old chinkapin oak is known as The Great God Tree.

Working on a sci-fi anthology book cover. I'll share the whole story about it once it's done.

Today, I am celebrating the life and work of both Martin Luther King Jr. and David Lynch. Thank you both, and RIP.

“David Lynch, our beloved dad, was a guiding light of creativity, love, and peace. On Monday, January 20th — what would have been his 79th birthday — we invite you all to join us in a worldwide group meditation at 12:00pm NOON PST for 10 minutes,” the family wrote in a statement let's!

Costs I am not willing to agree to.

Let's just be like the cats. Have a Sunday cat nap. livelovemaria.substack.com/p/sunday-cat...

My decision to switch to slow, text-based content on Substack and BlueSky couldn't have been timed better with TikTok now inaccessible from the US and Meta slowly going in the direction Twitter went. But, friends, I am still sad.

It just occurred to me that the inauguration will be on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. 💔

My Painting “Golden Hour Fall Forest” has been accepted for an exhibition and will not be available on my online store until end of April again (unless sold at exhibition).

Hey Solarpunk folks! Got a question. What are your methods of handling the doomers, the cat-callers and the 'well actually' bros who try to bring you down when you talk about the possibilities of a positive future? Let's talk strategy!

We don’t fight evil with weapons of war on an individual level. We fight it with the things that give us joy. That’s how we beat back the Power Behind the Nothing. Yes we also dismantle systemic racism & take care of each other I vote that keeping space for our joy also stays part of the work

The Hidden Life of Trees, a book by Peter Wohlleben, a German forester and conservationist, inspired me so profoundly that I painted a series of artworks about it last summer. livelovemaria.substack.com/p/the-song-o...

Can’t wait to read this! Written by David Graeber and @nikadubrovsky.bsky.social. The illustrations look really cool, and it’s refreshing to see both speculative and real places mixed together. I wish more books looked and flowed like this!
