The Spellshop was magical and filled with whimsy, something I so very much needed right now. What other whimsical reads should I try? #BookSky #BookRecommendations #TBR

This morning’s anti-tyranny action was to like every comment that spoke the truth in response to the DOE’s FB propaganda. We cannot lose hope. Each “like” claims truth. It says “you are not alone”. It says “mandate” is a LIE. It encourages each other. WE will resist. Small actions DO matter.

Today’s “keep going” mood stabilizer is brought to you by #GracieAbrams on repeat.

The important thing right now is not to lose hope and become immobilized. With flooding the zone, that is precisely what they are hoping to do, to make you feel as if you have no voice. It is imperative that every single one of us stay informed and involved. 1/2

On Tyranny gave me hope, because it gave me concrete actions that even I, a person with no big position or audience, could do to fight back every day. Today I’m renewing my Friends of the Library membership as a way to support and defend our local library system. #OnTyranny

The Will of the Many is the first book I’ve read in a while that 100% stood up to the BookTok hype, and now I’m just mad that the second one isn’t out TOMORROW. The politics, the mystery, the intrigue, the friendships, the magic… THE ENDING! Must read. #BookSky #BookTok

Everyone loves Lambchop.

We librarians can avoid obeying in advance by staying conscious of how anxiety of potential challenges may impact our collection choices. Or, like me, just buy even more books by Black, indigenous, queer, and other often under represented authors/illustrators.

On Freedom and How Fascism Works have taught me so much about how we got here. Ex: I’m always like “how can anyone believe these conspiracy theories?” But it’s not about literal belief… it’s about muddying truth, spreading general distrust, making news into sports, etc… Please read! #BookSky

Storytellers will be the ones to see us through this. Stories help us remember where we come from and what we’ve been through. They inspire us to imagine new and better futures. A love of storytelling fosters empathy, compassion, and curiosity.

Excuse me, but Caz and Meep the Cactus (no name as of yet) alone make The Spellshop worth the read. I am at about 55%, and already sad that I will eventually have to leave this island. #TheSpellshop @sarahbethdurst.bsky.social #BookSky 📚💙

The world’s on fire, so I might as well watch the Eras Tour. Joy matters.

Books are everything right now. And I’m also very thankful for my @fableapp.bsky.social book clubs. #BookSky

Autism is NOT A CHRONIC CHILDHOOD DISEASE. I can’t even deal with being labeled like that, or any of the people I love. We are autistic, and we are HAPPY as our autistic selves. I love my brain. I love my daughter’s brain. I love the brains of all the people I’ve supported over the years.

My busiest time of year coinciding with the most wintry time of year does not work for me. My body wants to hibernate and read and hibernate.
