I did it! I deactivated (and presumably in 30 days, deleted) my Twitter/X account. I’ve left before, but this time I shut down. I’m sad to be losing record of some nice interactions and worried about becoming oblivious to segments of society, but so very glad to be freeing myself of that darkness.
