I am so thankful that the Kroger - Albertsons merger fell through. I am incredibly thankful for Washington AG Bob Ferguson suing to block it in WA and the FTC following his lead. In my area, we would have been left with no standard grocery store competition. Huge victory for us consumers!!

I’m growing increasingly furious at the various articles showcasing the number of industries dependent on undocumented immigrants as workers in our country. We will employ them, withhold taxes from them, and allow them to live under constant threat of deportation. We do nothing to fix the issue.

Homeboy stopped the wrong lady (H/T @agirlhasnopres.bsky.social )

Stop using these apps entirely, people. Get a notebook and a pen and go analog. I'm serious

Billionaires work very hard to keep the peasants distracted and divided so they never notice how badly they’re being SCREWED and unite against the billionaires.

What kind of poetry do stoned pigeons write? High coos.

Stunning. www.nbcnews.com/politics/nat...

When they talk about privatizing Veterans’ care and Medicare, they mean allowing companies to provide healthcare for a profit. But how do companies make those profits? By *denying* care to many who need it. Don’t get fooled by the “privatization” label. It means “for profit” and YOU are the cost.

I read “Poverty, by America” by Matthew Desmond earlier this year. A few things really stuck with me in that book, but one related to housing. He discussed NIMBYism quite a bit & how vocal that crowd is when it comes to zoning. I’m trying to be more vocal in my support for better zoning options.

“.. we’re developing into a plutocracy .. We’ve got an enormous number of enormously rich people that have convinced themselves that they’re rich because they’re smart and constructive. And they don’t like government, and they don’t like to pay taxes." - Paul Volcker, gone five years ago today.

I want to watch TV coverage of the live fall of the Syrian regime. CNN is airing a Giuliani documentary, Fox News has a comedian joking about Canada, MSNBC a documentary about migrants So I turned on BBC,which is breathlessly switching between Syria, South Korea demonstrations, and Ghana election

Nearly every single Republican voted against releasing the Matt Gaetz ethics report. Remember this the next time they pretend to care about protecting minors.

One of the best things about this time of year is getting to play Christmas music on repeat. One of the second best things is reading all of the debates on the worst Christmas songs. My vote is always and forever Christmas Shoes. Awful, awful, awful!!

A doctor’s letter to United Healthcare for denying nausea meds for a child on chemo

If you as a parent do not want your child to read about something, that is your job as a parent to oversee their reading. It should absolutely not affect what children who are not yours are reading.

pete hegseth doesn't want women to serve in combat roles yet he has his mother out here fighting his battles....

I love how South Korea was like yeah no and ended that shit before dinner. Goals. 😂

I don't know what you learned in English class but who, what, when, where, why and how are so important and versatile when asking questions for the media you ingest and interpret. Examples being who is this for? What feeling does this stir? Why was it written in this tone? Who benefits from this?etc

the frenzy over the hunter biden pardon is a good reminder that the press knows how to make something a scandal and has decided that nothing trump does is truly deserving of that treatment

Please spare me the “now Trump can…” analysis about stuff that Trump was explicitly campaigning on doing anyway.

This is just a small handful of the hundreds of pardons Trump gave to drug traffickers, violent felons, fraudsters, donors, friends, cronies, wealthy businessmen, campaign aides, and Republican politicians.

If you’re upset about President Biden pardoning his son Hunter, wait until I tell you about the time Trump pardoned his son in law’s hooker hiring daddy and made him ambassador to France.

This should go without saying, but it's okay if someone you don't agree with goes on a certain show or podcast. It's okay to be exposed to dissenting opinions. It's okay to feel uncomfortable. The biggest danger for the Democratic Party moving forward is the imposition of ideological purity tests.

It’s a question we ask all the time.

Summary of the postings on my Nextdoor app: 50% lost dog / lost cat 25% I saw a coyote! 10% complaining about crime and / or homelessness 10% complaining about new housing developments (note these are the same people as the folks above 🤔) 5% miscellaneous other I’m fascinated by the 10% people.

This story from the Idaho Capital Sun seems significant: "Pete Hegseth, president-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for secretary of Defense, has close ties to an Idaho-based Christian nationalist church that aims to turn America into a theocracy."
