Gender equality doesn’t just 'happen.' Women’s rights must be fought for and protected. Our responsibility is clear. To lead by example and create a world where opportunities are fair for all. Not just today, but every single day. #InternationalWomensDay

NEW POST: Spotlight on SEND funding: Education Committee inquiry MPs refuse to be taken in by anti-parent tropes. SEND parent and journalist @samcarlisle.bsky.social has summarised the drama for us… www.specialneedsjungle.com/s...

It's half term, which means I have a copy of Primary Reading Simplified to give away. Simply *repost* this post for your chance to win. I will choose a winner at random this Saturday (22nd February).

🧵An important part of the primary experience is having a lovely time- adults ringfencing the unique state of childhood and ensuring that primary is a glorious place to be little. Playful and joyful are not the antonyms of high standards and aspiration.

Volunteering for a bereavement charity once a week is a nice weekly reset and reminder of why I do my job. Made a mother quite emotional explaining this theory earlier. Always resonates with me #edpsychs

Time to unwind after a busy week. The highlight being 2 days of fantastic CPD from @teachlikeachamp.bsky.social It was really good to spend time with colleagues thinking about how we can apply certain strategies within the different contexts across our Trust. Have a great weekend everyone! 🫶🏼

If the SENCo has to answer about Inclusion in mainstream schools, then we not really trying to gain inclusion. The SENCo will need to be an important voice in the conversation but we need to see inclusion as the outcome of all the policies. Can children access the curriculum, assessment, etc

The school is an institution, but the SENCO is a human being! Amid the ongoing SEND crisis, which has been scrutinised and consulted on countless times, certain groups often find themselves bearing the brunt of the blame. The top three typically singled out are SENCOs, parents, and schools.1/n

“Bad behaviour makes men more glamorous. Women get destroyed, thrown out of society and locked up in institutions”. - (RIP) Marianne Faithfull

A really great post. It’s essential that we carefully monitor the impact of the support we have in place to ensure it’s useful.

I created a Starter pack on SEND in England. It's for professionals and families go.bsky.app/RUAW7ML If you'd like adding, give us a wave in the replies.

We need to amplify women who made or make a difference. We need to look for ways, even small ways to make a difference in our corners of the world! Push back! Rise up! #WomenEd @womened.bsky.social

A great SENDCo can transform children’s & their families’ lives. Quite frankly they are 100% gold plated edu-diamonds and their deep knowledge & compassionate understanding twinned with a relentless belief in what is possible is powerful & inspirational. They are true heroes. 🙏🏻

Being a professional is so much easier than being a parent. So I’m sharing this in case any one reading this post needs to hear these words. Keep fighting for your child! The system is broken but they aren’t. And you aren’t!
