A reminder to my disabled friends. Your value is not based on your productivity. Your bodies & minds are valid, beautiful & important just as they are. You are worthy of love, deserve comfort, joy and safety. We will fight ableist narratives about our lives. You're not alone #DisabilityJustice

I had the opportunity to go to CSUN this year but I didn't, for a number of reasons. I am curious to hear how many people in attendance chose to mask, and if there was literally any COVID-safer efforts happening.

It’s Long COVID Awareness Day, and I want to thank @zeteo.com for inviting me to write about it! Politicians & media can’t keep pushing endless COVID reinfections as an acceptable condition of our “new normal”- while failing to communicate the risks. zeteo.com/p/denying-th...

“The Giver,” which Chappell Roan debuted on ‘SNL’ last fall, is finally out. “I just think a lesbian country song is really funny,” she says. “I wrote a country song not to invade country music, but to really capture what I think the essence of country music is for me.”

digital accessibility things that are irritating me this week: encountering the phrase "no alt text provided for this image," QR codes used inappropriately, campaign assets with obvious contrast issues, and communicating with poorly designed PDFs instead of with well-designed emails or webpages.

full moon in South Lansing

today’s Red Cedar view. a couple minutes before I took this I heard honking—it was Sparty being transported by golf cart on the river trail. he was waving, of course.

This International Women’s Day, remember that women are disproportionately impacted by many chronic illnesses. We’re more likely to be abandoned by our spouse/partner when we become disabled, and mistreated/gaslit by the medical profession Women’s rights & disability rights are uniquely intertwined

jaw and facial pain has been absolutely unrelenting in recent days. stress is a factor, of course. I’m having a hard time balancing being informed with protecting my health. it’s probably best that I log off.

"From the first chords of “Me and Mia,” the crowd exploded, singing every word as Leo’s signature blend of sharp lyricism, punk urgency, and melodic brilliance electrified the venue."

the many-years-outdated Twitter and Instagram logos in Gary Peters’ email footer is a hilarious detail to me. hilarious in a sad way that represents a slow moving and out of touch entity. (seriously it is the IG logo that was phased out in 2016.)

(Nathaniel Rateliff & Gregory Alan Isakov perform their song “Flowers” on Jimmy Kimmel Live)

stating the obvious (and as a disabled woman), it just keeps getting harder to log on day after day to send my emails and update my spreadsheets.

Three unidentified men, who were not wearing badges or ID, violently removed a woman at a town hall from her seat by order of the Idaho county sheriff after she criticized a Republican state legislator for stealing “timber from public land.”

always good to put on some Superchunk (Wild Loneliness and What A Time To Be Alive).

If you want to fight fascism? Wear a mask. If you want to show solidarity with disabled people? Wear a mask. If you want to protect your own health? Wear a mask. If you recognize that no one is coming to save us? Wear a mask. My ultimate guide to respirators:

my sister and I arrived back at my house after a trip to Livonia to see my grandma’s art exhibit, and she was compelled to make a snowball in the driveway to see if she could throw it and hit the tree. I joined in. and my house camera captured it all on video, truly love that. sister joy!

trying to get hyped up for the rest of the month. first up: finishing up a tattoo tomorrow. March 1 will be fun (and will also mean we made it through February).

contentment: cross country skiing figure-8-ish laps around my own backyard.

Alimony Tony's Valimony Showny 2025 featuring Paul F. Tompkins, Mandell Maughan, Mary Sohn, Mitra Jouhari, and Nicole Parker. 👏

Economic issues are LGBTQ+ issues. This vote hurts countless queer folks in Michigan.

I have now seen Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan’s Grammy performances, and holy shit they rocked. brought me some true joy.

gonna be a sad day in Frandor—the Frandor Joann’s is on the list of the Michigan stores that will be closing.

Upset about the attacks on DEIA? Put your money where your mouth is, literally - mask up. Actions > words. Demonstrate community care.

MUNA brought back the extended bridge on “I Know A Place.” 😭

the vibe I am trying to cultivate at the moment

I ❤️ CADL. the majority of books I have read in the last five years were thanks to Libby and Hoopla access.
