An experiment to swap steam radiators for eco-friendly, electric heat pumps at a Queens public housing complex has yielded promising results, nearly two years in.

Idk for some reason I’ve been thinking about this today. www.politico.com/states/new-y...

“Trump to New York: Drop Dead” Accurate in every way.

Statement out from @earthjustice.bsky.social on President Trump’s attempt to halt congestion pricing. earthjustice.org/press/2025/e...

In this episode of New York NOW, starting at 13:45, an update on utility rates & the push for the NY HEAT Act. Listen to one man's story of how utility rates affect his family & comments by @lizmoran.bsky.social of @earthjustice.bsky.social and @profbobhowarth.bsky.social.

Hundreds in Albany today demanding #NYAssembly takes action to cut energy bills by passing #NYHEAT!

This year’s winner for best budget testimony goes to @foodandwater.bsky.social www.nysenate.gov/sites/defaul... Time for the Assembly to pass #NYHEAT!

Caught in 4k mid-yap to the Governor

It's 5PM cup of coffee season!!!!!!* *also known as budget testimony prep season

NEW: There's been a 51-percent drop in injuries an a 55-percent drop in crashes year-over-year within the congestion relief zone in just the first 12 days of the program. nyc.streetsblog.org/2025/01/23/c...

As the federal administration moves at breakneck speed to put corporate polluters over everyday people, Governor Hochul missed a chance to ‘set the standard for the nation’ by cutting energy costs & protecting the climate. See a statement from @lizmoran.bsky.social earthjustice.org/press/2025/e...

Statement f/@earthjustice.bsky.social on @govkathyhochul.bsky.social #NYBudget. A lack of vision from the Governor, while the federal admin executes their vision to line the wallets of wealthy corporate polluters. earthjustice.org/press/2025/e...

Long Island, the former Congressman’s home base, is definitely not vulnerable to climate change or anything. They haven’t dealt with major storms or flooding or weather damages. 👍

Governor Hochul’s rollback of her climate commitments will harm NYers. Cap and invest has the potential to put money back in people’s wallets and key investments into their communities. Delay helps polluters, not people. AND the legislature needs to step up with policies like #NYHEAT.

@lizmoran.bsky.social is right 👇 “With the incoming federal administration, we’re especially going to need the [New York] Assembly to stand up for their constituents and make sure they pass policies that cut energy bills, create good jobs and address the climate crisis."

Enormous news — @govkathyhochul.bsky.social signed the climate superfund bill into law today! Landmark law will #MakePollutersPay for climate damage, raising $3 billion/year! Huge thanks to the movement that made this happen! When we fight, we win. www.foodandwaterwatch.org/2024/12/26/n...

A true sign this app is catching up with X/twitter - starting to see crypto influencer accounts on here.

Farmers across NY—small, mid-sized, co-ops, and family-run—deserve fair opportunities to thrive. The #GoodFoodNY Bill ensures public dollars support our local producers. Take action to get it signed into law: bit.ly/GFNYaction2024

not great!!!! new construction is where it is cheapest to design and build with heat pump systems. letting builders put in fossil furnaces now that the state will have to subsidize replacing later?? bonkers pet peeve: why is every story about this issue illustrated with a gas stove pic

“New Yorkers have made their voices loud and clear. They want Gov. Hochul and the Legislature to address the cost of living, and that’s why NY Heat is the solution that needs to be the top priority for the governor as she approaches her budget.” - @lizmoran.bsky.social bit.ly/41xo3gg

Good morning happy Friday my first email of the day to an esteemed colleague was “yuck. Knowledge is a punishment.”

ICYMI: Bitcoin’s latest surge is great for miners — not so much for the environment via @marketplaceapm.bsky.social "...it’s taking on line gas plants that have actually been shuttered and bringing them back online just for the purposes of cryptocurrency mining." www.marketplace.org/2024/12/05/b...

Geeking out over polling crosstabs this evening, wbu

Just a note that "all-of-the-above" being pushed for energy, especially in present day, is just a ploy to keep the dirty and expensive fossil fuel industry alive - not to keep your bills cheaper or to reduce climate pollution.

Important thread about how this western NY fossil fuel company is using ratepayer dollars to fight policies that will lower energy bills for their customers and reduce climate pollution. Same old playbook. @govkathyhochul.bsky.social shouldn’t fall for it.

👀 Recent disclosures show National Fuel urged its corporate customers to back its long-term plan for continued use of gas. After prodding from advocates, the utility admitted the letter was funded by ratepayers, saying it aimed to “provide educational information.”

This happened as Trump tapped a crypto advocate to head the SEC - a body that is supposed to protect investors. There are still trials for crypto CEOs that contributed to the crypto crash a mere 2 years ago that lost customers MILLIONS. abcnews.go.com/amp/US/year-...

Good time to remind people that Bitcoin comes along with outrageous energy consumption fueling the climate crisis, increased energy bills for regular people, constant noise, and air and water pollution. Yet another case of a select few profiting off harming the majority.

Hey, so are you wondering what's up with NEPA, our nation's keystone environmental law? Well, a LOT. Pull up a chair and I'll break it down for you. p.s. I just got here from the other place and am starting over from scratch! Retweet (or whatever the right word is) if you think this is helpful.

Big business, oil and gas, using their same old playbook: blame consumers for the climate crisis. But the billions they've spent lying about the reality of climate change and delaying action? Not their fault! @govkathyhochul.bsky.social signing #climatesuperfund should be a no brainer.

I applaud Governor Hochul for restarting Congestion Pricing, which will provide critical funding for public transit that makes life more affordable for the 85% of commuters (NYC residents and visitors) who rely on it every single day.

I’ve been on this app for a hot minute (clearly not used much), but observing a sudden influx of folks here. To ask the obvious question, is this a response to the election?

A coalition in Syracuse says that tearing down a busy strip of highway is key to environmental justice. Their rivals say environmental justice demands the opposite: keeping the viaduct up. https://nysfocus.com/2023/07/06/syracuse-i-81-highway-environment

Ya know. I’ve yet to see anyone post a screenshot of something good on threads.
