I really loved this book. I was expecting it to be good (it's Mary Annaïse Heglar!), but IMO it brought a new emotional (and intersectional) depth to areas of climate writing that I haven't seen explored much before now. Read it! And also, ask your local library to stock it so other people see it.

My employers are hoping to recruit someone who can practice content design in both Welsh and English, attached to our Cardiff office: www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/41... Happy to answer any questions I can by DM.

As a self-employed person with chronic lung issues who generally requires at least a week of rest (without sick pay) to recover from chest infections... I certainly flinch. I wish more people did.

All of those Scandinavian vowels have opinions about this, too.

I'm over on the Thrutopia substack this week talking about writing, the climate crisis and how to face yourself when the world is a binfire. 👇

A Personal Note [to my students] & Some Reading Recommendations In stressful times, finding inspiration is crucial. This message offers solidarity and suggests two books that spark creativity. Both provide fresh perspectives and can be read in short bursts. Even amidst deadlines and stressful…

The Curae Prize is open to writer-carers until 1 March. If that's you, give it a go!

Today I unfriended someone on fb whose Spiked-esque quasi-fascist posts have been derailing me for years. Thought so many times about removing them, but they were 'nice' to me years ago, so I didn't. Kind of horrified at how much energy I've wasted over s'one I met once and talked to for ten mins.

Adam's first book really is that good. I imagine the next one will be, too!

@geoffcox.bsky.social Hi Geoff, thanks for the follow. I'm currently reading Richard Askwith's Race Against Time - have you come across it? I'm finding it really interesting, if occasionally confronting (as a not-that-old-but-definitely-getting-towards-ageing runner).

I'm a member of three libraries. All brilliant for different things, but the main thing they all have in common? FREE BOOKS! Come get yer books.

I've signed this. Please consider signing it too. It's open to editors and proofreaders.

Good morning! My story, The Other Side of Time, is being serialised on the Thrutopia substack in February, and part one is up now: thrutopia.substack.com/p/the-other-... Would love you to give it a read and let me know what you think. Blurb downthread. #amWriting #thrutopia #sapphic #sapphicspies

In 1973, a brilliant critic named Stuart Hall created a diagram that changed the way we study media, and could help you survive this moment. Just dropped: the second letter in my series about how to analyze the media in a time of crisis. It's all about codes. buttondown.com/thehypothesi...

It was such a pleasure to copyedit this book, and I'm delighted it's out in the world! Will Ruddick combines ancient wisdom and emerging technologies to explore how we can rebuild trust and create resilient economies from the ground up. A beautiful book. willruddick.substack.com/p/grassroots...

I cannot *wait* for this book to be available in the UK!

This is your cue to stop doomscrolling, set your timer for 10 minutes and write something. You can do this. C'mon. This is your dream 💪 🔥

Great thread on why it's good for libraries to buy more from indie presses. Stu knows his stuff on this.
