That’s lush!! I recently got the new TWSBI Espresso with bronze detailing in EF and loaded it with Unknown Land in from Dominant Industry and it’s just 🫠 And again it’s perfect for a new historical quest fantasy idea.

I’ll also be reading THE HUNT FOR THE GOLDEN SCARAB by MG Leonard @mglnrd.bsky.socia later this week. I just had to pose some of my Egyptian goodies alongside the book for dramatic effect.

Good morning, lovely Womble! I bought & am reading THE LAST DRAGON ON MARS by Scott Reintgen. It’s a sci fi fantasy for younger readers and it’s so damn good. I think adult readers will love it too.

Hello lovely Womble. I read, nay, *devoured* DON’T LET THE FOREST IN by C. G. Drews and it is hands down one of the best & darkest YA horrors I’ve read in ages. On par with The Witch (movie) & Daughters unto Devils (book) by Amy Lukavics.

The sheer stupidity. Sometimes I think Thanos had a good idea.

Honestly, Gen. It was how surprised he was by me not encouraging him? The fact that I was against it? The genuine cluelessness. I had to walk it off. Completely ridiculous tbh.

Aaaah! Nice. I’ve also pre-ordered Scarab & Ice Apprentice. I do the staff picks for our younger readers and I just love the variety. I’m currently reading this and loving it entirely.

Good morning, Womble! I’m reading my first MG for 2025. I’ve chosen SKY PIRATES by Alex English, illustrated by Mark Chambers. Each month I read a book for younger readers & choose it as a staff pick for the indie bookshop I work at.

Appaz it was super organised. The rules were strict. There were several female games masters / active staff. There was lgbtq+ reps & v diverse & welcoming. Players had options to pause game if they were uncomfortable about anything + notices all over re no sexism / racism in & out of game.

Ok nm. Jumped on Reddit. Mostly female friends are heading there today with one set of parents. So I’m keen to hear what they feed back.

Perfect!! You can also point them to www.rpgtaverns.com - which I only heard of this week. Mark is heading there tomorrow with friends to play a one-shot campaign. It’s apparently excellent for noobs as they supply everything including the dm.

Dammit. I was puttering around journaling & watching dumb BL Thai dramas but I kept worrying about the book. 😂

I just found out the second book is out. I’m very excited. But also very worried for the characters in book 1 as I’m about 40% from finishing it.

I’m so late today. I was playing some Assassins Creed! But!! I’m reading THE SCARLET ALCHEMIST by Kylie Lee Baker and I’m so obsessed with the magic system. The world building is excellent. The mc is so used to fighting to stay alive any kindness has her buffering. 🥰

Ha! There were snacks too! I can no longer stomach too much junk food. Migraine city 🤦‍♀️

Good morning, Womble! I’m currently reading EMPEROR OF THE SEA by Jack Weatherford. My fave read…gosh, so many! I’m thinking Voyage of the Damned by Frances White. Just loved the murder mystery aspect in a fantasy plot with added chaotic mc who is deeply endearing & his tiny murderous sidekick.

Haha. Should I apologise?

Good morning, Womble!! I’m reading The Shabti by Megaera C Lorenz. Set in 1934 it’s about a former medium debunking fake spiritualists till he meets a uni professor who’s convinced he’s being haunted. It’s creepy & perfect.

I love first drafts. It’s where I get ALL THE THINGS out. The big structural edits is what I love next. It’s like I hacked a piece of marble out of a cliff. Now I make it pretty. Then each pass after that I buff & polish. I force myself to plan, but even so it’s not natural for me so I have leeway.

1000% sold on Shabti & I bought it. 💃💃

There are a few yarnbombed postboxes in the area but this is my fave. And I love how they dress the church too. That red with its wreath is lovely.

I mean he’s been in like 2 or maybe 3 episodes. But it’s a cool show. Nothing groundbreaking. And you know, Justin Hartley isn’t too terrible. 😉

I have no idea what car it is but it’s the size of a ship. And a convertible so it’s not the SPN Impala.

The most ridiculous book on Genghis Khan. 😂 And I want book 2 of The Hurricane Wars. I am OBSESSED. 🥰
