I’m currently reading Out of the Woods by Hannah Bonam-Young and she does such a good job of making real life situations not feel heavy in her books. Yes, it’s frustrating or sad or angering what the characters are going through but also I just want them to succeed. #booksky #romancelandia

Somehow, some way I manage to injure myself more doing daily tasks then I ever did while figure skating for 16 years. 3 sprained ankles - walking, I did those walking. Sprained wrist - writing, I did it writing Whatever I’ve done to my knee/calf - walking 16 years of skating - 3 stitches…

This book was good just not my favorite. The author did a great job of writing heavy topics that felt real and reading this this week made it feel even more real. I enjoyed the representation of the characters and the struggles they went through. I would recommend this to specific people.

There’s a caveat to this. Indie authors HEAVILY rely on KU and Amazon to make their books accessible. Some people can’t sell directly and keep stock. Bookstores don’t really or at all have indie books and ESPECIALLY by marginalised people. I wish we would think about this #booksky #blackbooksky

What is your top book goal this year? Mine is increase diversity in my reading and do better research on my authors. I’ve definitely read and sadly promoted some problematic authors but my goal is to improve this year by doing better, not posting before confirming. #booksy #romancelandia
