I was not familiar with the name of the Polish prime minister and I thought it was satire! #DonaldTusk

While my feed is full of outraged and embarrassed Americans, I'd like to remind everyone that Trump got 77,284,118 votes, that's almost 50% of all presidential votes in 2024.

Come along today if you can, or I can send you a zoom link. #queer #visual #methods #arts #artsmethods

When and how did #joy become an academic buzz word?

Exciting package just landed on my doorstep! I'm very lucky to be in this collection with so many great researchers. You can get your copy here: www.routledge.com/Gender-UnBou... 🌈🎓 🦘🎓

Research advice please. We are currently getting many many fake participants for our research, replying to recruitment, even filling out consent forms, but then not showing up for interviews. Sometimes we can tell, but not always. Advice on identifying these people?

Be Curious!

It's the vibe and, ah – no that's it. It's the vibe. I rest my case

Repeating the following for the media bros for the second time in 10 days - Ash Barty WON in 2022. Ash Barty, a Ngarigo First Nations woman, an absolute superstar and champion, broke the drought for Australia back in 2022. can we stop using 'men' as the default member of Australia. #AO #tennis

Happy Monday to me!! #FreshPubAlert We review open-text survey options for sex/gender and sexuality and find that they do improve data accuracy by capturing diversity, complexity, & evolving language of identities. #sociology #demography #openaccess compass.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

We will be Jaguars by Nemonte Nenquimo is great. I highly recommend. It is the first memoir from this part of the world that I have read, and loved it.

Have you listened to The Telepathy Tapes? thetelepathytapes.com What do you think? (I've just started them.)

"Digital media is fake and teaches young people the wrong things about sexuality!" 🚨🗣️ Our response to this provocation, synthesised from the Groundhog Day roundtables hosted by the IERLab in Sep 2023, has just been published in the International Journal of Communication 🌈🎓 ijoc.org/index.php/ij...

The Sun Does Shine by Ray Hinton, from the Oprah book club. This is an incredible story. From Wikipedia I see that Ray Hinton has in no way been compensated by the state. How anyone involved in putting or keeping him on death row lives with themselves I don’t know.

First day back after the Christmas New years break and everything feels too hard!

Cleverly told. A child’s experience and confused understanding followed by history and analysis. I found it slow at times, but valuable in what it shows: kids need to be given language and concepts to better understand their experiences of social injustice. Whiskey Tender, Deborah Jackson Taffa.

I’m not really sure how I came across this book but it’s a New York Time’s best seller so I thought why not? Well, it really was pretty crap and I found the author very unlikeable!

This is not as good as Boy from the Mish but maybe simpler, easier to read. It’s just really great that #queer #Aboriginal #YA is available. #garylonesborough

This entertains me. I’m a sociologist, my partner is a philosopher. The oddball couple! www.theage.com.au/national/vic...

Hopefully the last picture of me as a US citizen. Waiting for my renunciation appointment.

Academics check out this excellent looking call for submissions on “The Future of Nonbinary” for a special issue of Continuum, edited by CQ Quinan and Claude Kempen

Tell us all about queer museums you’ve seen or queer museums you’d like to see.

Today was my graduation, officially Dr Lizzie.

What struck me in this was Margaret not getting into the #PhD program she applied to because she was coming from out of field. This is the small mindedness I’ve found so often in Oz. I’m so thankful I was accepted into my PhD program despite only a 20yr old BA and no relevant experience.

African diaspora youth belonging school action research showcase today by @melbaak.bsky.social was fantastic. If you want to learn about great action research follow Mel’s work.

(posting on behalf of) Alana Blakers who is doing a PhD on queer museums as part of my ARC project titled Saving Lives: Mapping the influence of Indigenous LGBTIQ+ creative artists. Any and all participation is appreciated mqedu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...

Why do you have that sign on your back? Because I don’t have any merch. I made my own. #Wicked #DIY

You'd think after 30 years you'd know everything there is to know about your partner, but no. I learned today that mine can't really curl their toes! I didn't even realise this was a thing.

If you see something awful on that other app please don’t bring it over here. Even if you’re doing it to challenge it, it’s annoying. I’m here because I don’t want to see that S***
