Coming to the UK to claim asylum is a right protected in international law, and therefore any notion of illegality is legally wrong. Also, denying citizenship would leave a lot of refugees stateless, in direct contravention of the Convention on Statelessness 1954 to which the UK is a signatory. (1)

A vote for The Green Party is never wasted. 1) Every Green vote at a General Election gives us a tiny amount of money towards paying for a Parliamentary office with staff to help us 2) Every Green vote is an indicator to the other parties that the environment is important. 3) And we win seats!

This is a completely bonkers situation. My suggestion (and it would take a bit of time, energy and new legislation to achieve) would be to introduce an interim layer of independent decision makers between the HO and the IAT who would look at the papers only (to make it quicker) and 🧵

Evidently there are people who still think it's justifiable to kill children because Hamas (might have) stored weaponry in schools and hospitals. Children are protected by the Geneva Conventions of 1949 & Additional Protocols of 1977, even if they actively take part in hostilities. Please share.
