After 3 surgeries, a blood clot, infection & being hospitalized for over a week, the moment I was discharged I rushed to the airport so I could get on a plane to DC & vote NO on Republicans’ disastrous budget plan. Rep. Pettersen traveled from Colorado with her newborn son so she could vote NO. 🧵

I mean yeah, but while we're doing these complicated political constructions, let's probably frontload that she rightly can expect to be indicted by the DOJ if she does this and no matter how horseshit the charges it isn't necessarily the fight she wants at this time with these judges.

Once again thinking about the luminary resistance thinkers who assured us that we just had to keep declaring that DOGE isn't a real department.

By many orders of magnitude, the most impactful question anyone - reporter or otherwise - could put to Trump is "How does Elon's dick taste?" There's just nothing else remotely close. This is actually what this country has become, and pretending otherwise is a waste of everything.

Every Democrat in leadership who thinks they are just gonna ride this out, wait for Trump to screw up and then take advantage in the midterms deserves to be hounded out of office. These idiots will see us all tied up in a gulag in El Salvador before they actually fight back.

Ah I see so they ARE capable of showing anger Good to know

It's possible I'm being uncharitable here. Maybe in retrospet Team BO absolutely knew he had drafted in on a strong independent movement that would demand better than he cared to give, and that's why the first priority was to dismantle everything.

This battle has been fought so exhaustingly for so long. There is general consensus on the left writ large that policy will be better under the furthest left government possible. This isn't hard but it also isn't the point - which there's *also general consensus on*

A handful of gaffes like these effectively wiped Biden from the face of the political earth. Dems won't even mention that maybe it's bad if he doesn't know what company or even what industry he's talking about, and we shouldn't be taking economic suicide orders from a skull full of mashed potatoes.

Every single day I think about how Biden and the Dem Senate majority left dozens of judicial vacancies behind and then literally threw themselves a party for it - while they still had time to confirm more!

I know, I've said this before, but: if Joe Biden made Selena Gomez a "special government employee," she blocked all appropriated funding for ICE and their grants/contracts, and then started posting about how DHS didn't exist, nobody would doubt that was all unconstitutional and illegal.

These Dems are just like Lincoln, we're told.

You gotta love the people out here who keep screaming about how there's no way that Dem leadership could be better and it's just naive idiots who keep pushing for more.

Most of the oligarchs who backed Hitler ended up in concentration camps or in front of war crime tribunals. But that’s never going to happen to me.

And also,this is insane

Marcus Flowers grifted $17 million running a nonsense campaign against MTG in the '22 cycle. For health reasons, I do not recommend thinking about all the downticket races that could have been swung with that money.

Schumer had to be pressured to offer the slightest objection to a fascist overthrowing the Constitution. Great that the pressure is starting to penetrate, terrible commentary on whatever remains of his personal character.

I've been in this game for twenty years now. And my longest standing refrain about Dem leaders has been: "What the hell do they want us to do?! Something?!" Back when, I didn't know how miserably right it was.

Musk is the world's most prominent and powerful Nazi in at least 80 years, and Ro Khanna is really excited about the clout from being in his circle.

Elected Dems are very lazy but here's the thing- so are Elected Republicans!

Oh, well in that case

Thinking back on those halcyon days when our great resistance thinkers were focused on making sure everyone knew DOGE wasn't technically a department and therefore had no power

“Though the Nazis still garnered only a tiny share of popular support, their rise had begun. They never won an outright majority, topping out at 37 percent of the vote” www.history.com/news/hitler-...

I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons

I was just looking at the FDIC backing statement for my savings account and wondering how many days we have left before that's gone.

Curious to see which Dems have better things to do

Schumer is completely irredeemable, but the fact that none of the energy that ran out Biden has moved to running out these utter baffoons in another demonstration that it's the mainstream left that's not meaningfully in the fight.

Quite the Twitter ad for this moment

Shocking. Last night Schumer cut a deal with Senate GOP to expedite votes on Trump nominees. Yesterday, Jeffries promised a "day of action" to focus attention on the funding freeze. You didn't hear about it bc they didn't organize it. If you want Dems to unify & fight, come help us push them.

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

I actually wish the media would stop using "DEI" and "diversity hiring" and just get to the essence of the thing and ask: "Are you saying that this crash was caused by desegregating the races?" And see what happens.

Time will tell about this particular situation, but the NBA has built its entire business model around integrating gambling into every possible aspect of the league. So this is just the front edge of a gigantic disaster coming. www.espn.com/nba/story/_/...

While we're vaguely on the subject- the FDA hasn't posted a drug label since 1/22

Open-air corruption. They’re just flaunting it.

No what, no when, no how. No idea what "keep fighting" is referring to here. But it's actually encouraging to see some acknowledgement of the pressure for Senate Dems to not keep staring blankly into space.

Well, sounds like we've solved poverty. Good job everyone.

remember all the tut-tutting from sensible centrists about the use of the word fascism
