www.facebook.com/share/v/14tG... Black History Month

Researching abandoned historic oil wells is making my head hurt since information is so difficult to find. I think is is because people record their successes but try to hide or forget about their failures or losses. But the Earth remembers and these abandoned wells are still there just hidden

Timeline cleanse, here are a few pictures of my rescue pup Hickory. He has become a Velcro dog but he is the best as long as you share whatever you are eating.

Started to teach my daughter to crochet, anything to put down the phone and stop mindlessly scrolling. Also the news is depressing and it’s really cold outside.

I no longer believe art can save the world, but I believe still that it can save me. So in the face of chaos, misinformation, hatred & ignorance, I'm going to make more art, experience more, share more, pay for more & publish more. I started this in darkness & it'll continue to be my light. 🖤🤍

Spent most of my day in media and public relations training. Thankfully, I get to go back to my books and historical magazines to research.

The movie Canadian Bacon is supposed to be satire not a political manual. It stared the great John Candy.

Feeling the anxiety and procrastination creeping in as I need to write a proposal for a history/museum conference and the imposter syndrome has a stranglehold on me. Do people really want to learn about free educational museum resources help teachers with hands on learning in the classroom?

Today was the day I fell into another research hole and I just love the use of language to paint a picture of the fears of people and industrialists of the past. I wrote out the quote in the alternate text for the image.

The news is very upsetting today and normally love it but I just can’t handle the amount of stupid. Hopefully this is a temporary blip since years from now I don’t want to be writing a history paper about when we flushed humanity down the drain. 🇨🇦🍁

First it was the Great Maple Syrup Heist and now Butter Burglary in Guelph. This is the cost of living in Canada and honestly while this is irritating, I prefer this type of crime over others. Thousands of dollars in stolen product. The slippery mystery of Ontario’s butter bandits. - Toronto Star

Time for some facts and figures about the petroleum industry www.facebook.com/share/1A1YtJ...

What kind of adult evening #museum programs would you attend and pay for? My curator said we are open until 8:30 but no one comes in so we need to program a special event for our rural oil museum in Canada. Crowdsourcing any and all ideas.

Wrapping presents as a mom is not as fun as I imagined as a kid. It’s so much work!! Will try to get more accomplished tomorrow

www.facebook.com/share/p/1BB7... just a little local Lambton County history where the the oil industry got its start in 1858.

So it’s started and it’s the first day of holiday programs at the museum and I am all dressed up in my depressing costume with no makeup in bad lighting. However the kids are having a blast making candles and making ornaments.

www.facebook.com/share/v/14eZ... so I get tasked with social media sometimes at the museum and I started thinking about how oil has been used as a plot device in many motion pictures. What other movies or shows use petroleum as a plot device or setting? How is oil viewed in media?

It’s pouring rain so I think this calls for making a pot of creamy potato bacon soup and biscuits. I need cozy food and a book.

Hi Everyone, I am the educational program coordinator at the Oil Museum of Canada. I love geeking out about local history, vintage fashion, and recipes. I am eternally conflicted about the role of resource development and the environment. I don’t have the answers but love questions and learning.
