You know you want a little Palestinian embroidery flower, handmade by me, supervised by only the best supervisory cats. Just donate at least $10 to @sharifabedullah.bsky.social ‘s kids to get them some food and send me your address.

the fourth antibiotic they gave my wife started to actually do something & she is currently telling me about her visit w/ her dead grandmother who told was telling her beautiful things—the order of roses, how women pass on stories—when she farted and startled herself back to this side of the veil

Okay, so this thing where there’s a hard pull on your credit and you instantly get hundreds of texts and calls from lenders pretending to be related to your actual inquiry in progress? Fuck this noise, this harassment oughtta be illegal.

Also not this being how I found out John Rogers wrote the Transformers movie fuck no wonder I liked it so much.

FFS I got death threats about making Optimus Prime the wrong kind of truck when I wrote the TRANSFORMERS movie. Do the job or get out of the way.

Lisa McClain displays the abuse victim dodge— she knows that the quickest way to the bin is to talk about the abuser’s plans, so she demurs, giving him more illusion of authority. You hate to see it.

real people are disappearing this is 1933 the "what you would have done if you were there" is NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW

Ah, the Balkanization shuffle.

I can’t remember where I saw it now, but I remember seeing an interview with a prospective Trump voter who said something like “things can’t possibly get any worse” and I think about that all the time

Living in Atlanta the sheer audacity of this stuff blows the mind. In CA they tried to hide it a little.

Please more cisgender people do this. Read @jessothomson.co.uk's and @goodlawproject.bsky.social's articles on the impact of the supreme court ruling and demand primary legislation to urgently safeguard trans rights.

EVERYONE GETS DUE PROCESS. Everyone. Period. I'm especially not taking a lecture on immigration policy from this Nazi-adjacent fascist piece of shit.

New, from me: The Trump administration is killing Direct File, the free IRS e-filing tool. Users love it, and it creates incredible value for the public. It's the clearest sign that DOGE wants a government that serves private and not public interests. 🧵 donmoynihan.substack.com/p/the-death-...

This is a power lie. A power lie is a *blatantly* false assertion made by a person with authority. The goal is to split reality & do massive psychic damage to society. Loyalists are forced to either: —confront their Beloved Leader is a huge liar —defend the power lie as truth, denying reality

All 27 scientists at this CDC lab were told their duties were "unnecessary," and now viral outbreak investigations have been halted.

I've been thinking about this all week. There was no ICE before 9/11. (Truly, GWB does not get enough heat for me.)

So look, my 11yo just admitted that @lochinvar.bsky.social and I were right that he would really like Star Wars: A New Hope (despecialized edition) if he ever sat down and watched it. My day has greatly improved.

Kiddos finally letting us show them Star Wars Episode IV. So far, they’ve declared it, “a very good movie.”

It is pleasing me that I am starting to see more of this sentiment.

NEW: Judge Boasberg finds probable cause to hold the Trump administration in contempt for their decision not to turn the planes around on March 15. He orders them either to fix their mistake or identify who made those decisions (presumably for further sanctions).

You guys. No

You'd be wrong to think @lumpley.bsky.social just designs games and analyzes them. #ttrpg

NBA coaches Steve Kerr and Gregg Popovich may be two of the most adept "use their platform" folks in the US.

me learning the full name of one of Trump's Attorneys General first term was Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, like how does your name smell like slavery

This is shameful, horrific, and, at its root, a completely wrong decision. Trans women are women. Period. www.thepinknews.com/2025/04/16/s...

A week of the term left, and I usually start making notes about what to do differently the next time I run a class---and the AI landscape is the biggest change. my 300-level history class used to be all about writing; next time around, it is going to be all about reading

Some would say "sneaky tactic" others would observe that odometer fraud is a federal felony. A creative prosecutor could probably tack on some conspiracy and mail or wire fraud charges too.

This frame is a mistake. Democracy is a more efficient system than authoritarianism. They solve problems better than others, have stronger economic and health outcomes growth and fewer financial crises. Authoritarians look decisive because they miss problems and have to do big things to fix them.

*taps sign furiously*

I’ve been wanting to write this for a while. So I finally did.

I agree ❤️🤍🐘🔺

Headlines from one year ago in the Rupert Murdoch owned Wall Street Journal. Good thing we voted for the law and order candidate who could clean up the crime-ridden, economic disaster America was.

"Kilmar is all of us" is a hauntingly great slogan for this moment, I want to see it on signs at protests

Even if you (wrongly) believe that some immigrants lack due process rights, what’s to stop the government from claiming that *you* are an undocumented immigrant; removing you to El Salvador; citing an “administrative error”; and refusing to do anything to bring you back? The answer is due process.

I can't emphasize enough that the most important thing journalists can do right now is publish exactly this kind of article

“God hasn’t forgotten about you.”

Fully this.

Oh, oh, pick me! It's not
