So I’m gonna be putting some new stuff up shortly (about a month). But the songs on the four albums I released end of Nov last year have collectively hit nearly 18000 plays. Which is all right for my little neck of the woods! This one has the most: on.soundcloud.com/YFEUjNLsEGAC...

See ya Brian James. Came late to the party, Jan 1978, ‘New rose’ on the Stiff Records flexi disc with RAM magazine here in Oz. Immediately got the first album. Cracker. Here they are doing a fine stab at Alice. youtu.be/Hz16ObeWQ6E?...

I hope everyone had a most merry Christmas or, if that ain’t your thing, you had a good day anyway. Here’s an old tune of mine, usual cheap as chips, lo-fi video production! Darling (sends me to sleep) youtu.be/gIh3W3m7I-U

Steve Jones turned 69 a bit back. Funny, cool, kinda sweet, he posts the occasional vid of him in his bathroom singing and playing songs. His choices are great! Here he is, blue nail polish on his big toes, doing Roxy’s ‘More than this’. www.instagram.com/reel/C9rtEbX...

Well it’s nearly that time of year, so here is my Christmas song, my one and only Christmas song. Ho ho ho and all that: on.soundcloud.com/dpiX9tepyKhS...

Three covers from a live recording back in, gulp, 1980 with my first gigging band The Manics. That band lasted some eight months, from when I was 17 to mid 18! The covers are: Train in Vain (The Clash), You belong to me (Elvis Costello), A Bomb in Wardour Street (The Jam). youtu.be/_ndssuWJynI

And more summer jangle. This from, ooh, 1987. In that Go-Betweens to Icicle Works ballpark, if y’all can recall that far back! Lots of me as a young tyke when we all lived beachside way south of Adelaide. Nawwww. youtu.be/H42hDyacjFA

Best post something otherwise it’ll all go mouldy. Here’s a slightly treble-y song from 1996-1997. Vaguely Beach Boys, vaguely punk summer pop. youtu.be/jgt5QTEVXds

And even more sort of mellow and merry. Japan went into stranger territories as they went on, and David Sylvian’s solo work has become more abstract since too. But here they are in full pop pomp doing some Miracles. I think I had a blonde head of hair very similar way back. youtu.be/yYrKe8K9lEY?...

Something if mine a bit mellow and jangly all at once. I’m sounding a little Moz in this one … well, it was written a very long time ago. on.soundcloud.com/rcHTt2obUSuC...

Forgot about this song demo of mine being up on YouTube. Lofi clip, which is to say it’s stills and some colouring in. Lots of shots of the band, The Bambi Kino (1993-1997) and this is from 1995 maybe. Kind of pop punk/power pop. Look at the size of my earring! Your seas youtu.be/cc-pxmOIcEU

The instructions for re-setting my gas heating outlet tells me to de-press the button for thirty seconds. So I told it some sad stories and, sure enough, it worked just fine.

Hot, steamy and raining here in Melbourne. Perfect for some Chet Baker mes amis. Chet Baker Time after time youtu.be/0ybMVHeJZ7w?...

On another note, I’ve been watching lots of old crime series films from the ‘30s and early ‘40s: The thin man, The Falcon, Bulldog Drummond, The lone wolf. All fun and short like they used to make ‘em for double bills. Particularly like the Michael Shayne films. All on YouTube, have a look!

People keep saying ‘it’s really hot’ and then ask me if I know what tomorrow’s going to be. I tell them ‘Tuesday’.

And to that end of my own musical spectrum, some mod-ish pop and rock-ness. Dig the new breed! Even if it is 17 years old … on.soundcloud.com/Gm3SBkcq6ML2...

Meanwhile some live Temptations from the early ‘70s. Damn good. youtu.be/Cw9t1QJsPkw?...

So I’ve had a song approved on Soundcloud and will be delivered to stores shortly! I’m not sure if that means I now have a profile on Spotify and Apple under the band’s name of ‘Instant memory’ though. I’m so out of touch with tech. And I work in tech.

And in complete contrast here’s an over the top synth rock sort of song from maybe 1985. Look at that hair. Could this song or our look be any more eighties? Hilarious. youtu.be/VNIJmmPn-a4

In my continued pursuit of showing just how wayward my bands and music projects have been, first here’s a cute kind of acoustic pop song from about 2008. Awww. on.soundcloud.com/tpNbXPJFBFtH...

Genre: noir country waltz ballad. You know the type. This from my country band called Diner (around 2000-2001). Featured folk like Paul Thomas (in Oz bands like Custard and Weddings, Parties, Anything). Mostly rock, some ballads like this piece of spook … on.soundcloud.com/EbYCVdmAL72j...

So this tune was one of nine I wrote in a day way, way back in the mists of time. I’m working on a a sequel album written some decades later and. again, in just one day. This one is kinda post punk new wave … on.soundcloud.com/9gsixRFYAbso...

Great cover and even better threads. Ain’t too proud to beg - Stones youtu.be/Kktm9rwz-dE?...

And if that last slice of music was a bit loud, then here’s something very different. I record my late night noodlings on piano and try and shape them into short pieces. Think Satie, Ryuichi … I’ll link to the full album on day, but here’s one sleepy track: on.soundcloud.com/hXRneJ9QwjYL...

Meanwhile doesn’t this just crank it!! T Rex in full live pomp … youtu.be/rpMa6JADDJM?...

Best put up some music! I make music across a range of genres, and last night I put up 4 albums of a band from 1988 called The E-Taylors, brash guitar pop, Husker Du / REM /The Byrds etc. Together 5 months, never made it to the gig stage. Here’s one of the four. soundcloud.com/lofijames-1/...

Oh here’s one very old song with a handmade clip. youtu.be/YrcgJf7eoDg?...

Currently working through a first priority tv list (I’ve got four levels, there’s soooo much). Alpha order so it’s #arcane and #archive81 at the moment. Don’t get me started on YouTube and all my ‘70s and ‘80s shows - ‘The stone tape’ next.

Sometimes I fantasise about putting apples into the blender. I guess I have impuree thoughts.

I would love to see Sleeping Beauty on ice. Right after I see Macbeth on meth. That’s enough jokes for today.

I sometimes like to get home and just jump in the shower. Other times I like to skip in the kitchen.

I had already put in the banana and milk into the blender and was about to add Milo, when Otis arrived and spoiled the whole thing.

Went all the way to London only to find that Selfridges actually don’t.

I wish Angelina Jolie would marry the inventor of the ATM, because then we could go to the wedding and sing ‘for she’s a Jolie-Goodfellow’. And that would be hilarious.

I try not to think about money but I keep hearing those invoices in my head.

First post … ummm. Oh. There’s nothing like a good swim to release a flood of endolphins. Might as well start with a joke.
